Satellite in 2002 (could not find answer)

So as the title says, I have a 2002 cooper and am looking for a way to install satellite radio in the car...I have seen the XM direct and the blitzsafe adapter but no one has said if this would work in a 2002. I have looked in the boot and it appears that my mini has the same cables in the back as the 2003 I am just wondering if anyone has done this on a 2002 before I purchase the parts. Also if it has been done but not in this way.....how?

You will need a production date of 9/2002+ in order to be compatible for Sirius/XM.

Ok...so my cooper has the proper inputs in the rear of the car....however, I am not "seeing" how the whole directXM and Blitzsafe adapter thing is going together...also I'm not really sure what specific parts I need to order.

Any Help?

You have a 1st Generation radio, the 2003+ radios are 2nd Generation and have Sirius/XM/AUX support. 3rd Generation radios appeared in 2005 and added MP3 support.

You will need a replacement MINI radio (2nd Generation or newer) to have Satellite support, all radios have the rear inputs - it will not work otherwise.
