CD/Radio questions

i have an 03 with the harmon kardon cd player/cd changer. i have a couple questions. first when i listen to am (always listening to sports radio) there is a whine noise over the radio signal. this does not happen when i listen to fm or a cd. is this a problem with my antenna or with grounding or something else. the station i listen to is located in the city i live in and i can get the signal fine in my other vehicle.

second question. i have the six disc changer in the boot. with this changer i am not able to use the cd player in the in dash head unit. is there a way that i can use both the in dash player and the cd changer?

last question. i know that there is an ipod adapter for minis that lets you control your ipod functions thru the head unit. what year was this first available? it was probably available after 03, is it possible to get it to work in my 03 or do i need a different head unit? do i get this item from the dealer or from apple or is it another brand?

Sure it isnt just the type of CD you are using?

The thing with the AM radia is probably just an AM radio thing. AM by its very nature is far more susceptable to interference.

I replaced my head unit with an Alpine 9857, top of the line in 2006, and neither the am or fm reception improved. I still don't know if it's a function of the Mini antenna system, the radios, or a combination of both.

there are a few factory cd players on ebay. i have a card in my owner's manual with some sort of security code on it. if i buy another cd player off of ebay do i need another code? i'm not exactly sure what that code on the card is for. i think it is some sort of antitheft thing??
