enV successfully pairs with mini Bluetooth but does not sync address book / contacts

We recently recieved our 07 MCS with NAV and Bluetooth phone prep package.

The enV or vx9900 will pair with the Bluetooth system on the mini. However - the addres book / contacts do not get imported into the mini's system.

You can call out using the dial number and top 8 options - answer the phone and talk on it using the button on the steering wheel.

Basically - it works - BUT - you can't use the address book. For example you cant use the voice controls to call a name in your address book. Instead you have to either dial the number by saying it - or punch it into the system using the NAV joystick. Once you have dailed a number from the car, the car remembers that number and you can choose it from a list (top 8, recent etc.) when dailing.

I have tried this with a vx9900 firmware ver 1 and a ver 2 phone. Same reuslts. I also tried it with a vx9900 firmware ver 2 phone with 1 contact and other settings and storage locations set to factory defaults. Same results.

Perhaps mini will update the firmware on the Bluetooth module someday and update their Bluetooth compatability.

The problem isn't with the Mini - it's Verizon's draconian measures that keep most of their phones from syncing properly. They want you to subscribe to their pay services (including the one that syncs your address book to their system) so they lock out the ability for any other system to access parts of the phone. One of the many reasons that I can't wait for the 16GB iPhone to come out so I can leave Verizon.

Right on the money...Verizon's greed prompts them to disable OPP & OBEX profiles on their phones. Why Bluetooth® let's them use their trademark, is beyond comprehension, as the whole point of Bluetooth® is to have any device bearing their trademark, work with any other trademarked device.
