iPhone with bluetooth AND Aux In @ same time

mods feel free to merge this thread with the one about iphone & bluetooth a few lines down :-) no hard feelings

my question is this: when I have the iPhone linked to the car via bluetooth, and I'm listening to music from the iPhone via the aux in connector...

Current situation >> Picture this

Driving down the road, jamming to something off my iPhone. iPhone is also linked to MINI via bluetooth. Call comes in. I have to undo the aux cable to hear the phone call over bluetooth. It's a hassle, and something I'd like to avoid.

Maybe it's my iPhone? Has anyone else had these issues? Or noticed the same thing?

Thanks folks :-p

That is strange. When I use a separate cel phone on Bluetooth and an iPod through the AUX port, a call will silence the AUX port and give the audio to the phone call.

hehe I was talking about having my iphone connected to the bluetooth in the MINI and using it's aux port and ipod function @ the same time.

When I get a call, audio is routed to the earpiece on the iPhone... not thru the speakers. until I remove the aux input cable :-p

That's a rare combination you've got going on. But let's see, I've got aux input, bluetooth and iPhone. Never had the iPhone plugged in to the aux input when a phone call came in so I don't know. I'll hook it all up this weekend and have my wife call me. I'll let you know what happens.

Ok nevermind, I fiddled with it a little bit, and now the audio is defaulting to the bluetooth source, and broadcasting thru the car

When you are connected via Bluetooth, push a button on the iPhone to display call options

there's a button that says audio source. Tap that button and push the button that says Bluetooth

Make sure the audio cable is plugged in

And it should work

What are you using to plug into the aux?

I bought this in the hopes that it would work with my iPhone, but unfortunately, it doesn't. It would be nice to use the phone's digital connection, so if anyone knows of a cable that works with the iPhone, I'd be interested to hear about it.

For the auxillary connection, I am using this product

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Belki...oductDetail.do

It's not the exact, but something similar basically. On one end, the end that goes into the iphone, (which I don't have anymore by the way)... I shaved down the plastic so it would fit into iPhones recessed headphone jack, without that tacky adapter that they sell for like 20 bucks at the apple stores.

I don't know of any other way, to use the dock / sync connector for digital output. Honestly, with the MINI. even with the hifi system, you probably won't hear a difference.

If this was a Logic 7 system, or the Mark Levinson Reference system in a Lexus, yea you'd clearly hear a difference.

Doesn't the update for the iPhone support bluetooth stereo? If so, doesn't the mini also support this?
