PAC SWI-X problems.
Hi Guys, I am trying to get my MFSW controls to work. I installed the SWI-X, and for the life of me I can't seem to get it to work. I can get the setting (5) in okay, but when I actually try and set the steering wheels controls, the led on the right side never lights up to allow me to use my remote.
Anyone else have this problem?
I cut the MFSW wire right inder the steering wheel, and I am using the side closest to the steering wheel for the SWI-X.
I didn't use any wiring harness, as I just ran new wires for everything on my new Alpine head unit. (I'm running multible amps) I am wondering if maybe there is a wire in the factory harness that needs power for the MFSW controls to function. ????
I'm lost as to what could be the problem.
Anyone have this problem happen to them?
Thanks
-Jay

I have it soldered.
I actually clipped the wire, and tried it again. This time only twisting the wires together.
Guess what it worked for about 5 minutes. I was able to program the SWI-X with my remote and everything. BUT it will only work for about 5 minutes.
Then it doesn't do anything. I cannot even program the remote until I physically remove the yellow wire first, and then reconnect it.
WTF?
So it seems that I cannot program it until I remove the yellow wire first, and cycle the inginition on. Then I can program it. But after 5 or so minutes, it looses everything (except the 5 setting)
I have this to a switched 12v source, Tonight I am going to try a constant source.
This sucks!
