Sub question
I just purchased a bazooka sub online and iam wondering if anyone could help me with the install.( not physically) I dont know where to start. I need 2 know if i have to buy a new head unit becasue I plane on putting speakers in. any feed back would be great Thanks
Most of the tube-type subs (like the bazooka) are meant to be tapped into your rear speakers. The sub handles the low frequencies, and the higher frequencies are sent on the factory rear speakers. Does your sub have a built-in amplifier? A model number for the sub would really help.
Do you have the Harmon-Kardon stereo in your MINI? If you do, that will limit the choice of aftermarket speakers somewhat, because the H-K system uses a non-standard impedence for their speakers. With the regular stereo (not the H-K), you should be able to use most aftermarket speakers.

We'd love to help, but could you provide us with a little more info?
Type/model of bazooka/tube sub?
Year/model of your MINI?
Type of stock stereo (h/k?)
Do you have an amp?
How much do you want to spend?
Planning to replace whole system? Just speakers?
... and any other info you think would help us out a little more.

if you bought the amped bazooka's those are easy to install. the only
challenge is to pull out the rear speakers to tap its speaker wires...which
could be hard to some people.
when i did the BassLink install i completely removed the rear seats and
side panels... but i found through crutchfield that you can access the
rear speakers from just removing the seat bench and pulling on the rear
sidepanels just enough to work on the speakers. from there, you can use
a coat hanger, etc. to route the new sp wire to the boot to your bazooka.
if you have a MCS, the battery is under the boot so very easy access.
i have a small bazooka wired up on my civic and G. they are good 'fill the
void' type subwoofers. not annoyingly loud.
