NAV Trip Computer Question

Has anybody else noticed this with the two average fuel consumption readouts on their NAV system trip computers? While taking a trip this past weekend, I set the system to record my consumption using the "Consumption 1" display. After a few hours of driving I noticed that the system was now updating "Consumption 2" A few hours later I noticed that it had switched back to "Consumption 1". This happened without my stopping the car, making any changes to the NAV system, or anything else that I'm aware of. I'd noticed the unit switching back and forth between the two displays in the past, but I'd always figured it was triggered by my having shut the car down when I stopped for gas, or something like that. Anyone have any thoughts, or info on this?

Thanks,
- Jim L

Switching back and forth?
AFAIK, they run in parallel. I use the first for the current tank, and the second for 'overall' mileage.

I haven't seen anything that allows you to choose between one and the other, only the option of recalculating (aka zeroing) them.
