The lower speaker in the door on my '03 std mini has stopped working...and only makes scratchy noises. I have the standard sterio, which is fine for me..as long as it works.

Does anyone have a good used speaker that they would like to sell me? I just want something that works....and I'm thinking that there must be dozens of them sitting on shelves in home garages that were removed for upgrades.

why not just get a cheap replacement set from Crutchfield? it will sound better and you don't need to spend much

Back from searching Crutchfield...It looks like I'll have to buy a set of adaptor plates....and a set of raw speakers..it'll cost about $65-$140 or so plus shipping. The dealer has a single OEM in stock for about $55. So, crutchfield doesn't look like the solution that I was looking for.

better to spend $65 on replacements than $55 on a single from the dealer. the $55 only covers one and speakers should be replaced in pairs.

 

Crutchfield is retail; try J&R or Fry's too.
There's plenty of better speakers to throw in there.
