Nav/Bluetooth/Audio (Sirius)-Part 1

Just wanted to throw up some picts of the Nav system and show how it integrates phone and audio system.

Here's my default view of the Navigation. Map on left and direction on right.
Check out the sub-menu along the bottom of the screen. The actual time is on the right and the time on the left is the "Estimated Arrival Time." In the center is the distance to your objective (4 miles).

This view is called "Perspective." Interesting view but doesn't give you the names of the surrounding street names.

Also can show your raw GPS position. In sub-menu along the bottom, the Sirius channel "90s Alturnative" is abbreviated on the left side.

Nav/Bluetooth/Audio (Sirius)-Part 2

If you have a fear of maps, or just like to see arrows pointing you around, check out this Navigation view:

Regardless of the Nav view, the system will alert you when there is a traffic jam ahead and will re-route you around the mess. How cool is that!

The Bluetooth add-on goes beyond a simple hands-free add-on. When you pair up your phone to the car, the MINI downloads your phone's address book.

Another cool Bluetooth/Nav feature: You're in an unknown city and you tell the Nav to search for a Asian (or Italian or Morroccan or etc) restaurant within 5 miles of your current location. You see a place that sounds interesting. The NAV shows the restaurant's phone number and gives you the option TO CALL THE RESTAURANT from the MINI! Sweeet!

Here's what shows up on the Sirius Satellite radio display, showing the channel and the song that is playing:

I put up more picts on the Sirius Satellite radio over at:

Another cool aspect of the Nav system is that everything connected to the Nav is voice controlled. A couple highlights:

"Guidance Start/Stop"
"Communication...Address Book" - to access phone address book.
"Satellite Radio...Preset 1,2,3,4,5,6,et al"

That's about it. I hope it gives you a little more insight into the Nav System. I love the thing. Rerouting around traffic jams is so nice, especially when your traveling in an area you're not familiar with.
