Monday’s (Aug 12th) announcement on pricing for the 2003’s also included this little fact that I did not see posted here. I wish I had the connection for MP3’s. I have over 15 gigabytes of MP3 files from my CD collection. At least BMW is listening to the customers with what we want in the car. I still won’t give up my 2002 for a 2003 MINI..

From the MINI Owner’s Lounge an excerpt from pricing announcement below concerning the audio:

"MINI’s sound system for will also be satellite-ready (an announcement on satellite radio will be made shortly) and will also offer the customer an auxiliary input jack to allow easy connection of MP3 players and I-Pods"

Yes, but I believe the AUX jack will be in the rear so to conveniently use an Mp3 player, you'll still need the dealer to run a wire to the glovebox. Sounds like a few hundred bucks to me...

A while ago someone posted that the port would be located in the rear of the head unit, and that a wire could be run down through the back of the dash to the cupholder area. Again, hear-say, I also read that the increase would DEFINATELY be $1250. Unless they misplaced the zero, they were DEFINATELY wrong.
