the width was perfect any wider and it would not fit
the amp is secured to the floor
i can loosen the seat bolts and tilt it up to adjust the amp
not the most convenient way to adjust things but it works
be careful on the passenger side if you are securing the amp to the floor. the fuel lines run right under the seat

Yesterday I swapped it out for a rockford fosgate PS3 10" sub. I was happily surprised tht it sounds better than the BA sub and it hasn't had nearly enough time to break in yet. The RF is louder and bass line notes are even cleaner and more distinct than before. I'm not sure if it's all credit to the sub or also credited to the Rockford Fosgate 360.2 signal processor I also had installed. The 360.2 did improve my front soundstage quite a bit.
Have fun,
Josh
You keep saying very very soon!! Come on' already!!
We have a box, and we will have more info tomorrow. The rest of the stereo stuff came and I will have a how-to of sorts, or just pictures of me messing with the car. I swear, only one more day!
You can look in my other thread, the box is hiding in there.... The final box will be done very very soon. And you will be able to buy it very soon as well. And no, when you come down here I can get your stuff put in. You will see, and be able to purchase from someone a bit more reputable than I.
I had a 10" Boston acoustics sub up until yesterday. It sounded very good. Strong clean bass.

The sub is very good soft or loud and not overpowering. The 360.2 is hidden away in the left rear fender well while the sub is hidden on the boot floor. Overall the dash and speakers are all stock looking so it's very stealthy. Front and rear speakers were upgraded with focal components in the front, regular focals in the rear (these could be just basic speakers and work well). Power comes from amps that are placed into the right rear fender well and under the passenger front seat. The highs and midranges are very clear even at high volumes. We were not moving so I think that helped.
Overall it's a very stealthy and definitely worthwhile audio upgrade but may run over $2000 depending on your hardware selected. The 360.2 is very nice and fully adjustable.
I finally decided to have my system installed at a local custom shop. I took it in today and will be finished on sat morning. (prolly more like 7:00pm sat night). Gonna run the K2P's up front. As much as I would like to have done the actual install myself, I just don't have the time to devote to a quality install at this time. This is a really good custom shop and to my dismay, are quite expensive. Thank goodness I have a lot of the gear on hand and don't have to purchase it from them. I'm going to keep the HU stock. Add a JL Audio Clean sweep. Run all new wires to the two JL Audio amps under the seats.
I finished my sub box. It's exactly 1 cuft. I checked it out by filling it with 8- 1 gallon jugs of water and no water leaks. It fits down in the toolbox well. I will eventually put a top over the sub/enclosure and finish it with carpet. I've been taking pictures along the way and will post them as soon as I figure out how to do so on this website.
It doesn't look like much right now, but I think it's gonna thump. I'll know more tomorrow when I take it over to the install shop.

did you build it out of MDF? and you filled it with water?
No..................... I just look really stupid!
I taped the whole boot area and fiberglassed the shell. Once I had it all glassed, I had trouble getting the whole box out and decided to cut it back. I ended up with just a box in the middle area and will attempt to utilize some of the space on either side for storage of tools etc.I'm hoping to make it totally stealth back there and still be able to utilize the floor above the sub for groceries.....etc. We'll see. The grill cover that comes with the JLAudio W3v2 is domed and actually rises higher that I would have like it to. Currently, the sub is flush with the box top. I may look around for something that can be incorporated it the top piece that will be sitting over the sub/enclosure so that it is flush, but still protect the sub.

We have a TON of space on the passenger side, if you remove the cardboard/felt stuff on that side. That whole side panel is empty.
Somebody please make an enclose for that side!!!
You guys that took the back apart, is it hard to remove that passenger side panel in the boot?

I contacted JL Audio directly, and they want to update there MINI cooper Stealth box for the boot for the R56.
They need an R56 Mini for a day in the Ft. Lauderdale area. If anyone is in that area, PM me and I'll hook you up with my contact to set up the install / fabrication of the new box.
