Fall Fun Run to Foglight Foodhouse
Fall Fun Run to Foglight Foodhouse
I'm gonna go ahead and put out some feelers to see if we want to do this again in September (09/17/11) or move it to October. Moving it to a month later would possibly increase our chances of seeing the fall colors. It also means temperatures might be a bit cooler, possibly even very cool.
I'll probably run the same route as in the past, unless you all want me to change it up a little bit. We could go to Cumberland Caverns instead.
Let me what you think.
Sept. 18th Fall Fun Run
By popular demand, the date for this rallye/run will be October Satuday 15th. See below for more information.

That was a nice run last year and I really enjoyed it. Personally I would like to go a little later to see the fall colors. I bet its beautiful up there when the trees are changing. I'm game either way but later is my vote.

You need to see about getting your schedule changed.
Saturday is about the only day of the week that works for most of us. Some people (my wife) goes to church on Sundays, so drives on that day are out. Sorry about that John.

If you don't mind I'm going to subscribe to this thread. My wife has family in Thompson Station and she's finally starting to attend drives with me.
This one would be nice to attend if our schedule permit it and you welcome Yanks.

October 15th is good with us. Sorry Jomo. We do church as well. We could do a run after church if the group is willing to start a little later. We can go to early service and be at the Mini dealership by 10 AM. Church is the only sticking point with Sunday. I reserve my sundays off for Autocross days.
Oh, and the Mammoth Cave Rally. And maybe a run to the Mountains (The Dragon).

OK, by popular consensus, looks like we'll be having the FFRFF on Saturday October 15th.
As in the past we'll meet up at the Moe's Southwest Grill in Murfreesboro; the one on Thompson Lane.
More details to follow as the date gets closer.

Thanks to all for the response so far.
September 19th 2009 MINI Run
The above link is the itinerary for the drive I did last for the last couple years. We will met up at in the parking lot Of Moe's Southwest Grill on Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro.
To make things a bit easier for our friends up in the Nashville area, I'm open to suggestions for a meeting place that will be convenient for you all.
Departure time will depend on where we decide to meet up at, but should be around 10:00 and leave at 10:30 if we leave from Moe's.
This will pretty much an all day drive. I've reserved a picnic shelter at Fall Creek Falls for lunch. It has electrical outlets and a charcoal grill for those that want to cookout. I would suggest that you lunch a light meal because you want to have room for supper. We'll probably cut out any of the hiking like we did in the past, unless any of you all would prefer to do it. If you never been to the Falls there are some really nice sights to see there.
The roads we take from Fall Creek Falls to Rock Island State Park mostly back roads that are less traveled but are full of twists and turn over hills and dales (What ever dales are??) While we're in the Rock Island area we can take a short break to stretch our legs and take a bathroom break if needed. Planned as we did last year just before we go to supper we'll do a short hike to Twin Falls part of the park. Hopefully by then it will be close to 5 PM when the Foglight Foodhouse opens up.
Let me know what you think of the route I got planned and what meeting place would best for you all.

I' d like everyone who plans on going to cut and paste the below list, and add your name to it with how many you plan on bringing. That way I can give the restaurant a heads up on how many are coming to supper.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard James!
I know there used to be a group called Scenic City MINIs down your way, but haven't seen much activity on their website lately. Middle Tennessee MINIs has a Facebook page you can join if you would like to.
