Introduce Yourself Middle TN
That is one sah-weet MINI you have there!
Did you stumble upon us or did you get tagged? Your car looks similar to one I tagged on the Avenue this weekend. . .
Hello All!
My wife and I just purchased our first Mini...and we already love it! It really is more than just a car, it's a rolling anti-depressant.
We're excited to meet folks who feel the same way. We live in Lebanon and would love to join up for the fall drive. In fact, we're up for a drive nearly any time.

Welcome to the Mid-TN MINIacs!
We're trying to get this club re-vitalized and been having some good luck so far. We have been having about one activity a month so far. I see you have posted on our next outing already. Hope you can make it to the Fall Run. I'm the one who hosts it and we had a good time last year. Hope to have a repeat performance this year.
One question for you: How did find out about us? Did you get a "calling card" on your windshield? (Actually that was two, but who's counting.
)

Thanks for being so friendly and inviting. We actually found this group from HAL's link about the fall run on the "official" MidTNMinis site. But the calling card idea is awesome.
Pictures of our MINI are soon to come. I have a few "enhancements" (tint, front license plate, etc) that I'd like to do first, but I'm not sure I'll be able to hold out that long.
Looking forward to enjoying some great drives, good company, and, of course, our MINI.

Welcome lindzy13 and shawnf711 to the MINIacs of Mid-Tennessee.
We're trying to get things rolling with this cub again. We seem to be doing that with some new members in the area. We've been trying to do at least one event or get together a month.
We have an event next Saturday (9/18) that I'm hosting. See link below.

Hope you all can make it.

Welcome to you as well Lindzy!
okay that brings me to a good question smportis who do you let do maintenance. My father both my mini new back in 03 and he wanted a new one. So he went to mini of Nashville and he laughed at them when they told him how much they would give him for a trade in. So he went home called me and ask me if i wanted it. So he now has a 08 pepper white non s(he doesnt like change) So i am concerned about my mini since it has 110K on it. However, it runs good and never had any problems. On another note the mods i have done is blacked all chrome, tint windows, and installed hids. Now i want to lower it(not sure what i want yet tho) and 17X7 wheels and smoke out the lights. What do you think?
Shawn,
I do some of the maintenance myself, but I'm not a mechanic by any means. I've learned on the car somewhat, and it is easy, fun, and there is a large group of folks (just on this website even) that will help you figure out what you need to get done.
I have taken it to the BMW place, and paid their fees for a couple of things (alignments, bleeding brakes when I screwed them up), etc.
I've lowered mine, and think that I have the proper set of springs for the R53 models ('02 - '06), which is the H Sport Springs (Hotchkiss). Lowers about 1" all around. Not too much, not too little. I also did wheels and there are lots of choices in that, so go to Tire Rack and play around with it - might find better price somewhere else, might not, but TR has the best data and lots of choices.
I'd let MINI give you an estimate on a good 110K maintenance and then bite the $500 bullet and let them do it.
Others on the board may have a better local mechanic that is MINI-centric, but I've not had reason for one yet. My '02 only has 35K miles on it, I've put on 7K of those in 3 years (not a daily driver obviously).
My thoughts.
When you need "real" help, go to the 1st Generation MINIs forum and pick your correct sub thread. There will be lots of help there. Be sure to search before you post since there is a LOT of history in those threads.

Been a while
Hi everyone, guess this is a re-introduction. Been in my Mini Cooper Percy since 2007, and still love it to death. I can be identified from the rear I have an apple sticker in the middle of the window and a rather beat-up Union Jack ball on my antenna.
Oh, from the front, I'm the Asian girl driver waving at you.
You'll find me mostly in Nashville (Green Hills) and maybe Brentwood or Cool Springs.
See ya'll around!

I'm b-b-b-back! With some help from Jomo, I realized I had to remove myself from 'neath the rock under which I've been hiding lest I become cemented to it. I'm an '06 PW/B owner from the townie side (Madison/Goodlettsville) and I work on the south side of downtown. If you see a PW/B with butt stripes and the tag FUSE13 that's me. I apologize if my Pacman-like driving has/will annoy you, but it probably won't matter (unless you're in your civie car) because I'm on my best behavior around other MINIs
It's good to be back!!

Welcome back, Val!
I'm in the Rockvale/Murfreesboro area so be sure to wave at me and Scarlet (we can be easily identified by our beautiful offset bonnet strips), too!
