Like I said earlier, the wife and I won't be in a MINI since we have to return a loaner to Subaru.

We should be able to leave the dealership about 6 PM. It's located just east of I-65 on SR96. Would you all want to meet in that area or down the road at Cool Springs. I know Deb, my wife, wants to go to Publix while we're in the area. We're open to suggestions.

 

I'd like to meet up. There's a Publix on Moore's Lane just east of I-65.

Not sure what kind of food you have in mind but there's a Thai restaurant "Jasmine" in the same shopping center with Publix. There's also an Outback but that will be crazy on a Friday night. On the west side near the Galleria there are tons of places. Post an update on whatever you guys decide or shoot me a PM and I'll do all I can to be there. I'm having dragon withdrawals.

 

You don't have to be in your MINI to be a MINI person. I'm in, but not a big fan of Thai, I'll admit.

No, I did it last year but there were SO many people that hadn't done it so I left mine on the street. I sat on the porch of the little cabin and watched people navigate that big hill and prayed that no one would roll their cars onto another. It was cool to watch this year.

 

I like to picture Vivi like Ms. Barbara Stanwyck in "The Big Valley". For those of you that aren't 40 yet - Google it. Vivi - we really need to put you on a piece of foamcore. Just think of all the places you could've been...

How's this for loving your MINI?

Someone said there was a possibility of hail and then showed me a pic on WKRN of a busted out sunroof. I immediately got in my car, drove across the street to a building with covered parking and walked back across to my office in the torrential rains. My feet are soaked but my MINI is safe.

 

Vivi, I know how busy your schedule can be.

Why don't we plan on doing something over your way some Saturday after Memorial day weekend? Maybe find a good meeting spot and drive around that area, then go to that Cajun restaurant in Fly. How does that sound?

My MINI is in the parking garage three blocks away and I heard on the radio that 65S is blocked due to a wreck near Old Hickory Blvd. I don't know if I'm going to make it...I still have some work to do and a dog at home doing the peepee dance. I need a drink!

 

it looks like my girlfriend and i will be able to make it. hope to ee everyone there. i was on i65s on my way home about 30 mins ago and everything seemed fine, just traffic.

 

OK, so spill it y'all, how was dinner?

I'm up for a Saturday drive around here with dinner in Fly. I think they will cork a bottle for you, but you have to bring your own. I'm still waiting to find out when a memorial will take place for a friend of mine who died, suddenly, a few weeks ago (during the flood, but not flood related).

 

We had a great time. Anytime you can meet new MINI owners is quality time.

Dawn made up some prototype "tagging" cards to put under the windshield wipers of MINIs we spot in parking lots. These are an invite the join Mid-Tennessee MINIs with the URL for this part of the forum. She has laminated them so they are weather proof.

Looks like we might have a good start to the makings of a MINI club.

If there's enough interest please count me in on Saturday or Sunday drives, dinners, etc. M-F are difficult for me. Sorry I couldn't make it. Don't lose the enthusiasm or momentum.
