Hey Vivi, I have the same problem with the MidTn Mini site as well. Says that I am not active and I cannot get the administrator to make me active.

Does anyone around here know of a way to get hooked up with Mini entusiasts. Or should I say... Are there any Mini enthusiasts around Nashville TN?

Yes, there are some of us around. I would suggest going to see JoMo over at the dealership, he's pretty active in the MdTNMini group and may be able to get a message to the president, Drewmon, about how many people are having probs with the website. Granted, Drewmon is also the administrator of the site, so... Drew, John if you're reading this, HELP!!! There are people who want to belong and can't...
Other than that, HalAC has done some runs starting in Murfreesboro, and there is LeahLuvsMinis up on the Cumberland Plateau who has a run or two every year. SMPortis owns Moe's in Brentwood, Doobahdoo is in the Brentwood area I think & he & his partner each have a MINI... There's Rob, who I see almost daily as we drive opposite each other on our way to/from work/school (and occasionally meet up at The Good Cup in Grassland). I've been known to "stalk" MINI owners in parking lots and ask them if they're involved. And I've been the recipient of a MINI stalking or two...
We've got some excellent roads around here... It would be fun to get the club rolling or start another club...
Sorry if I've repeated myself ... just went back a thru the pages and it seems I've mentioned some of these folks before.
If you ever want to run some roads informally, pm me a few days ahead of time...
Are you heading to the Dragon for MOTD? It will really jazz you to be around that many MINI enthusiasts- Wish I could go, but this year didn't work for me. Hopefully next year.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Ruby has new shoes. Continental Extreme Contact DWS. So far, I dont like them, but I guess its the new tread (tall rubber blocks that are very bendy) and the change to non runflat. She felt better with bald tires, but... ..oh yeah... that's why those pesky racers use those bald tires on the racetrack. Silly me.

 

Hi Vivi et al! I would really like to get something going here in the Nashville area. I have not had any luck with MidTnMINIs. There are a lot of MINIs on the roads in and around Nashville so there should be enough interest to have some local get-togethers. We'll bring both cars so if we get at least two others that's more than a few so we'll call it a group. We're still fairly new to the area so it would be a great way to meet fellow MINI owners/enthusiasts and learn more about the area. Middle Tennessee is beautiful. Lets enjoy it while we can!

Scott (SMPortis) owns Moe's in both Brentwood & Cool Springs. I wonder if he'd be interested in hosting a "get together" ??? That way we could include him.
Saturday is the Music City Marathon, so quite a few people will be involved with that (says she... thinking that MINI folks are ever so athletic, LOL) ~ We're also supposed to get some weather Saturday afternoon. Franklin Street Festival is going on this weekend (it's free) in old Franklin- complete with crafts, vendors, food (ok, that's not free) and music. There may even be some carnie rides. Haven't been in a few years, so I don't remember.

Btw, Hi Mike! As for the MdTNMini site, it's wonky. Lots of people can not get on (myself included). Yet a lot of people have mentioned they would like to be involved in something... JoMo... Drew... are you getting this?

Let's continue this line of thought- maybe we could get something in this weekend... a pre-Dragon practice run?

I am definitely into getting together with some Mini friends (well, actually, making some Mini friends). I am celebrating a birthday on Friday night and then plan to spend most of the day at Two Rivers Baptist Church doing parking lot racing of mini-motards. We might get rained out, but whatever happens, I can hook up after that

 

i am registered but i dont think ill be able to make it. funds arent where they need to be for a short vacation.

 

can you race pocket bikes at this? my buddy and i love pocket bikes and have been looking for a group of people to hang with.

Thanks for the Happy B'day. Yes, that event is definitely for Pocket Bikes. It is very cool and they separate the different classes of mini bikes so that it is competitive. That being said, it is very low key and fun. I know they would love for you to join up. Below is the link to their website

unfortunately, due to the rain, today's events have been canceled. I am not consistent in going to the events, as I do not have a mini-motard of my own yet, but I intend to get one soon. When you get to their next event, say hello to my best friend, Michael Lee. He has a really fast Honda CR80 Mini-Motard, that has a 12" wheel package on it. He also brings out a full size Super Motard.

I bought a used 2008 Daimler Smart car on August 5, 2009. There were things about it I liked and disliked, so I tried to sell it at www.autotrader.com. The terrible storm we had here in Nashville on May 1st had my Smart car submerged in about 2½ feet of water, so my insurance company claimed it as a total loss, and are going to pay me off for it. I bought a 2004 MINI Cooper, and I love it more than I thought I would. It's a great little car, and I love it. Eventually, I'm considering trading it in on a new MINI Cooper S.

 

Sorry about the Smart but happy to welcome you to the MidTNMINI family. I've been intrigued by the Smart as someone in my neighborhood has one and there's one that parks in my parking garage downtown. We're a two "S" family and together have had four MINI's.

Like Mike and DBD said we're trying to get some owners together on a regular basis. I've hosted a couple of drives over the past few months.

I'm located near Tullahoma. Where are you at?

 

My wife has to pick up her Subaru at the dealership there in Franklin Friday evening. Would anybody be up to meeting up somewhere near the for supper?

I probably won't be in my MINI though , my wife will have a loaner vehicle that we'll have to return, so I'll be riding with her.

 

I'm in the recent flood zone in Nashville near the Grand `Ol Opry. A meeting with other Mini owners would be a blast to me. Keep me informed.
