A Happy MCSa Customer

I've lurked around this forum since before I even took delivery of my 2006 in April of this year. I've come up with reason after reason to not do this until finally, 2 weeks ago today I decided to take the plunge.

I emailed Don with a few basic questions just to put to rest the last shreds of nagging doubt I had and then sent him payment for the tuner file and cable. A week ago I received the cable and quickly sent him the file. Yesterday my inbox had the email I was waiting so much for.

I am thus far very happy. I've only been able to make the same boring trip home and back to work but there IS a noticable difference. (I am running a bone stock MCSa.) I know I am limited by having an auto but I knew what I was sacrificing when I ordered it like this. Still though there definately is a difference. I am not very well versed in the lingo but the best I can say is my mini now feels a little more ready to pounce. Even with minimal acceleration, I feel as though I am getting more power now (smoother delivery I guess is what I am getting at). For the record, I am not saying the difference is like night and day. However, there is a definate improvement, and I am thus far very satisfied.

Additionally, I want to thank Don for all his help and patience with answering all of my questions. Also, thanks to everyone who has posted here. Your knowledge was what interested me in the first place and I'm really glad I found this forum. Thanks for the advice and insight.

Now I have this overwhelming desire to keep modding.... Its like an itch you just have to scratch...

That is awesome and exactly how I felt. Unfortunetly I have not and will not dyno my car so I have no numbers. However, the overall feel for the car is much more aggresive with quicker acceleration. Bottom line, it was worth it in my opinion.

Not too sure. I'm going to try and ignore the mileage until a little further out once everything gets settled in. Although, (lol) I am thinking of either an intake or pulley next week if I get past my warranty fears...

Hmm...do you guys know if this puts a hit on the factory warranty?

If so, is it traceable? If not, is the chip easily removable?

MTH is not a chip, it's a flash.
The MTH program can be used to flash the original program back into the car in case you're worried about it being detected.
Of course if the dealership knows the engine is modified, and a failure occurs, it's a valid reason to refuse warranty.

You will certaily have a Night-Day experience when you change the SC pulley; this is especially certainly worth doing when you are running an auto. The best all round, reliable peformance you will receive from a 15% pulley!

I'm still under warranty with my '06 MCSa [just under 6k since June], and have modded it a bit. My dealer hasn't said a word about my mods and probably won't unless he can assure me that any problems down the line are actually tied to the mods I have made and not to his chagrin at not having been the one to do the installs and overcharge me.

I have an itchy hand on the credit card but trying to be good. Stay tuned... (No pun intended)

MCSa mods

I did a 15% pulley and an intake and it did indeed make a WORLD of difference. The pulley is much more difficult to install on a MCSa than a manual if you are pondering doing it yourself or taking it to someone who hasn't done an auto yet.
