Sorry if I'm rehashing... but...

Has the '06 ECU been unlocked? (eg will this work in my brand-new '06 MCS?)

Will I need updates in the future? I've heard it "expires" in a year - why would I need an update and is it mandatory?

The BHP numbers quoted - are those for on stock vehicles?

If I have a 15% pulley and CAI, can I use the standard version or will I need the "tuner" version?

Thanks!

MTH for 2006 MCS
Yes, there are files for the ’06. With a pulley you should get the Tuner File.

You’ll only need updates if you further modify your engine. With the Tuner File updates are free for one year. Only the CarTune program expires.

All of the values indicated by MTH are based on standard production vehicles and are obtained with 98 octane (RON). Measurements are performed in accordance with DIN (German Institute for Standardization) 70020 which means at the clutch, at 293 K / 20° Celsius / 68 F, and 1013 Pa. We can adjust the files to any other fuel quality but different figures will apply.

Thanks for the info

Is RON the method used in the US, or is that Europe? I've heard that US 92 = Europe 98??

Here in Washington premium is either 92 or 93 depending on where you go.

EDIT: I guess US method of calculation is RON. So i would need a tuner software designed for 92 octane
