Program Error

I started to upload the mth file this morning and I'm having problems. The progress bar begins then a pop-up tells me there is an "Internal write error". I click "ok" then another pop-up says "StartRoutine_01".

I tried uploading both files (one with pulley, one without) and received the error on both.

I was able to id the car, so it appears to be able to communicate.

These two pop-ups do not fit together. Internal write error is caused when the file is corrupted/damaged. StartRoutine_01 has nothing to do with that. Please tell me what kind of hardware you are using. Might be a computer problem.

It's weird but I finally got it to work. I guess the errors were separate of each other, but probably both caused by a glitch in my computer.

I double checked my hardware settings to make sure the USB driver was still using COM4 and it was. I unplugged the USB cable and put it in another port and checked the settings again. It changed to COM3. I changed Cartune to COM3 and it uploaded like a champ .
Thanks for the prompt reply on this thread and from Patrick at MTH-USA!

I've seen similar things happen if my laptop goes into power-save and even screen saver mode while uploading. I've learned to turn off all these functions or at least set them for a longer period of time while uploading with a laptop.

@ BidiMINI

That is a very important advice, thanks! All screensavers and other programms should be turned off!

Another thing to perhaps consider when flashing your ECU, is to make sure your virus and/or PDA synchronisation software is disabled. Virus software can hamper the reliability of your data link (USB and Serial), whereas the PDA software can hog the required port. The latter is only applicable for a serial port adapter.

I went through the same issues again this morning (installed pulley over the weekend). This time I never could get it to work. I tried switching ports, rebooting, turning car on & off, even shutting down and walking away.

I'll be the first to admit the computer I was using (desktop) has seen better days. I grabbed my tech's Toshiba Satellite laptop and set it up. I read somewhere the people were having issues with the Toshibas so I was a little worried. I plugged in the USB & it didn't even ask for the drivers... it self-installed. A few seconds later & I was uploading the new MTH file

Soooo, my solution to the problem was use a different computer

MTH StartRoutine_02_negative_response uploading Error

Hi- I seem to be having trouble up loading my MTH file.
It seems to up load alll the way to the end and I get this error:

StartRoutine_02_negative_response

I can't seem to get around this. I try to up load the file several times with no luck so I've uploaded the stock original file for now.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

I did. Cartune is a very sensitive application. You basically need to shut down just about every process that is running (without crashing windows) and then it will hopefully run. Disabel wireless adapters - everything.
It took me about 2 weeks before I finally got it to work. I do love my MTH, though.
Good luck.

Tried again today...Missed Monterey because of this crap! Grrrrrrrrr!!!!

I turned off the screen saver, disabled my wireless card, and set the power saver to never to kick in and even uninstalled my anti-virus software for the time being. I also tried using all the different usb ports on my laptop. Funny every time I loaded the original file it up-loaded with no problems. I'm at a loss...????
