Registration closed - still worth the trip?

Well, finally got a handle on my schedule and the registration period has closed.

I only live an hour or so away from the Dragon. Would it be worth the drive over? What sorts of things would I be able to do if I am not officially registered?

Thanks.

For only being one hour away just being there is worth it. There are
several events that have no limit on car count so you can get in those
if you want. I leave from Maryland next Tues. with some other folks
in C3M and its my sixth time. Getting stoked!

David, you are cheating yourself if you don't spend a day or two in Fontana!

I would go. The registration is dirt cheap anyways so if you do show up throw the event organizer $10 or so (regular registration was $8).

Registration give you the options of attending the dinners, brew swap, various drives and purchasing t shirts. Hanging out all day with 1000 of your closest MINI friends and vendors is available to anyone! You don't want to miss it.

I am leaning that way, but need some ammo to convince my wife and kids. With the excitement level I sense here, I do think it would be a blast. Would there be drives that I could tag along in?

Do people do the car line ups like in old car shows where they lift their bonnets and show off their mods? Did that just sound strangely perverse?

From: In the here and now, for now.
Preamble: Never been, live a long way away and want to some day.
To OP: Only an hour away? I'd be over there every weekend and run the Charohala too...'till I got tired of it. (Is that possible?)
