------------------------------------------
With a heavy heart, I am listing my beloved 2005 R53 for for sale.
This car has been an exhilarating project, a never-ending joyride, and a great friend to me for the last 10 years. Over the last decade, I have put 34,000 miles on it, poured many thousands of dollars into modifying it, and kept it meticulously maintained and pampered with the help of Way at WMW.
I cannot express to you how much fun this MINI is to drive. It handles like it is on rails, thanks not only to the R53’s design, but the KW coilovers, rear sway bar, and Powerflex bushings, the whine of the 15% pulley combined with the deeper roar of the camshaft is amazing, and the car makes you feel so connected to the road, nothing that any MINI made since has even come close to. This truly is an amazing car that is as unique as it is exhilarating. It has performed amazingly at both autocross events and a track day at Road Atlanta.
I have not dyno’d this car yet, but I would guess based off of other R53’s benchmarks, it is likely sitting somewhere around 200hp at the wheels, which is up significantly from the stock 168hp at the crank.

Other mods and recent work include:
- Brand new headliner ($300+)
- Brand new black exterior trim all the way around the car ($400+ in parts)
- Brand new floor mats
- Recently replaced gearshift ****
- Recently replaced battery
- Vinyl decals (5hp each)
Things that are common problems that you will not have to worry about any time soon:
- The ATI crankshaft pulley replaces the OEM pulley design that inevitably separates on every R53
- The one-piece aluminum coolant tank replaces the OEM two-piece plastic one that leaks at the seam in higher-mileage R53’s
- Control arm bushings have less than 4,000 miles on them
- Clutch has less than 20,000 miles on it
- Tires have less than 4,000 miles on them (Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3’s)
- Brake pads and rotors have less than 2,000 miles on them
- Cylinder head gasket replaced 10,000 miles ago
There are EASILY $14,000 in mods on this car alone, not to mention everything else that has been recently replaced and the value of the car itself. Every mod came with hours of research and advice, there are no off-brand eBay mods on this car; I spared very little expense when modifying, everything put on here is top-of-the-line aftermarket and/or OEM+. This also means that a majority of the engine and suspension components have less than 20,000 on them thanks to the recent modifications. I also have a maintenance history document as well as paperwork/receipts for almost everything I’ve done to this car.
The car has been in two accidents, neither of which were severe, and both of which were mainly cosmetic. One of them was a rear-end back in 2012 that necessitated a rear bumper replacement and a new axle. The other was in 2016, and necessitated a new hood, front bumper, and control arm bushings. No engine work was needed for either, nor was there any frame rail damage or airbag deployments. Despite the accidents, the mods that I have done before, as a result of, and since the accidents have made this car drive better now than it ever has in its life: the autocross and track days mentioned above were after the accidents, and the car handled them perfectly.
Asking $8,800. SOLD
Please let me know if you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them!
I’m located in downtown Atlanta.
Side notes: I do have the stock suspension and camshaft that I’ll include, should you wish to take those mods off the car. I also have a mint condition R53 GP intercooler for the car that I may be willing to part with for an additional cost, but honestly haven't decided yet. Let me know if you're interested and I'll give it some more thought.
Also note from the pictures: the three strut braces in the engine bay have been removed and will not be included in the sale; the GP intercooler has been replaced with the stock intercooler as well, as previously mentioned.

I can vouch for how nice and perfect this MINI is as he has been a customer for years and you can eat off this car it is so clean. It's been better than "well" maintained and I hope it finds a good home.

PM me if you ever decide to part it out... I'm local in Atlanta, also a Way customer and in need of a suspension as I have a leaky front strut but would be interested in some other stuff as well.
Price dropped to $9,000 flat!

Coming through Atlanta, would like to take a look
Greetings, I had replied previously, and am unsure if it actually went through... Technology being what it is..
Will be coming through Atlanta on Friday at some point. Wondering if I would be able to see the vehicle and chat with you.
Have been looking for "the right mini" for a while. I am fussy as I only want the older style body from 2009 to 2014. Like the smaller footprint as opposed to what they're morphing it into. Also don't like the new hydraulic clutch they put in as of 2014.
Have never done any mods to the coopers I have owned, but am in no way opposed to having them, especially with somebody that knows what they're doing, which it occurs to me you do!
Anyway if you can give me a shout back, I will provide my email address and my phone number, let me know if Friday is feasible, and if the vehicle is still available.
Many thanks for your time -
