Fanatically maintained
I bought this car in April 2006. It has been loads of fun, but it’s been 10 years. I’m ready for a new toy. This car has been very well maintained. The common failure points and wear items have been addressed, including:
- New Bilstein shocks (the expensive yellow ones) installed 2000 miles ago with new mounts.
- New control arm bushings (PowerFlex urethane), front sway bar bushings, inner and outer ball joints, and tie rod ends
- New power steering reservoir hoses (original ones leak after 10 years)
- Crankshaft pulley replaced with one-piece fluid filled pulley (the factory ones break in two)
- Belt, belt tensioner and damper replaced
- Crank position sensor o-ring replaced (common cause of oil leaks)
- Thermostat housing and gasket replaced
- New upper motor mount
- Redline fluid in the gearbox
I just performed routine maintenance to ensure that new owner is ready to hit the road
- Oil change
- New spark plugs
- New front brake rotors
This car has an Alta 15% supercharger pulley for more boost and extra power. (I install cooler plugs, NGK BKR-7s to reduce the risk of pre-detonation.)
The paint is in good shape overall. There are some chips on the front of the hood. There’s a scratch on the tailgate that I have touched up.
The tires are mid-life. The car passed state inspection in May, but will likely need tires before next year. The current tires are NOT run-flat.
The factory owner’s manual is in the glovebox. I have the original window sticker. I have a Haynes service manual. All of this is included.
The options on the car are:
- Red interior accents (only available on red and blue cars)
- Auto-climate control
- Limited-slip differential
