Why?

Why the sale when the car is so new and you put so much into it?

It's sold now. Went for $21,500.

Lesson learned: don't buy a chick car (small yellow cabrio) and then man it up (6 speed, modified exhaust). It makes for a difficult sell.

A yellow MCSC would only be considered a chick car by guys who are unsure of their masculinity or those who need to drive a big car to make up for other shortcomings

I would not have sold it for that little.
You gave it away. Yellow is not a chick car. If you sold it in Vega or Cali, you would have full price of asking.

I didn't give it away. I sold it. I have the check to prove it.

It went for market value.

I don't live in Vegas or CA, so I can't speak for those markets.

The only calls I got were from women or from guys looking for something for their wives. These are chicks. I know it stings, especially since you have an orange car, but facts is facts.

Either hang onto your ride forever, or face that depreciation is a bee-otch beyond what you were expecting. Read all the other FOR SALE posts here for further clarification.

I would've subscribed to this Freudian analysis myself, for the three years I was a MINI owner.

See the above post for more info.

minir90, did you trade in your MINI at Hendrick BMW? 'Cause I think this is the car they're now asking $25k for.
Unfotunately, I wish I'd seen your post earlier -- I would've wanted to buy it from you for less . . . but don't want to pay the dealer $25k plus taxes.

Yes, that's it. Of course, now you're armed with the info to negotiate, since you know what their margin is. Factor in their detailing costs, whether or not they replaced the tires, etc., and, naturally, their need to make a profit, and you should be able to structure a deal that is mutually beneficial.

VERY happy with the replacement. After a 2004 MINI Cooper S in Jet Black and a 2005 MINI Cooper S Convertible in Liquid Yellow, I am happy to remain in the BMW family with this 2007 328i. Gotta love the handling you get from this (these) company (companies).

I did the Performance Center Delivery in Spartanburg, SC. You get to take their cars out on the track for a morning's lesson/thrashing before taking delivery of your new car.

I noticed a few MINIs in the track fleet. When I asked my driving instructor what the deal was, he explained that BMW would love to do driving schools for MINI, but the MINI brand managers won't O.K. that until there is appropriate signage/branding of MINI all around the facility. I found it fascinating, because all this time we'd been led to believe that BMW didn't want to acknowledge MINI. Seems things go both ways. Sort of like when Jeff Gordon and Juan Pablo Montoya switched rides on "Trading Paint", and there was much speculation about Gordon going to open wheel...then everyone was stunned that Montoya was moving into stock cars...

Here's a bump for the good folks at Hendrick MINI. I was by today to get mats for my new ride, and I saw my old MINI on the lot for $24,990.

Seriously, it's a hell of a vehicle, and if you buy it from them, you get the remainder of the warranty and all that good stuff. Of course, you would've gotten that buying from me, but whatever.

I really clicked on a spec that impressed many people who saw it, and if anyone ever had the jones for a liquid yellow and anthracite/black MINI 'vert, this is the time to get it. Even if you don't get a penny off, you're still getting a bargain, if you check out the specs on KBB.

I will gladly answer any questions about this fine vehicle.
