FS: Mini, price lowered $5700 obo

UPDATE: I am lowering my asking price from $6000 to $5700.
Click this link for pictures:

http://s216.photobucket.com/albums/c...le%20Pictures/

It is a Right Hand Drive 1977 998cc titled in North Carolina with standard 12” steel wheels painted black (I was going for a rally look.) At some point it was re-shelled or brought up to mid-80s specs. It has an A+ 998, 8.4 inch disc brakes up front and a pop out/removable sunroof. It has the gauge cluster on the driver’s side of the dash with a stock tachometer. The mileage on the odometer is 32,505. I have no idea if that is original or not.

Over the two years of owning it I’ve been working on improving it. Here is the list of things I’ve done:

-Overhauled rear brakes (late summer 2005)
-Installed 3 point rear seatbelts (later summer 2005)
-New shocks up front and rear (late summer 2005)
-Replaced drive shaft seals and installed new inner CV boots (fall 2006)
-Installed new tie rods (early 2007)
-Overhauled the cooling system; new radiator, thermostat, all hoses, water pump, flushed heater core (early 2007)
-Installed SRacer Blue springs in the rear (early 2007)
-Installed new knuckle joints in the rear (early 2007)
-Overhauled front brakes (spring 2007)
-Installed new throttle cable and return spring (early 2007)
-Installed new points, condenser, rotor, cap, leads and spark plugs (spring 2007)
-“Freshened Up” (cleaned and painted) engine (early 2007)
-Installed new rear quarter window weather stripping (summer 2007)
-Installed RC40 twin box exhaust (summer 2007)

The paint looks pretty good. Pretty decent. I know there is one small run on the left rear quarter. The paint on there is not the original job. I have no idea when it was done. Not a show car but decent for a good daily driver.

The body is pretty good as well. There are a couple of small dings on it. One that comes to mind is in the rear quarter, nothing major at all. The main thing about the body is that it is in good condition but eventually need both sills, both door steps and both inner sills replaced. Then down the line it probably could use a door skin on the driver’s side. There’s a tad of corrosion up on the top near where the mirror mounts, it looks like there is a bit of bondo on it. That is the only bondo I know of on this car and I know this car body pretty well. There is a small pin hole in the bonnet.

The floors are in good shape. The front floors have a slight bulge due to somebody’s improper jacking but it is barely noticeable at all. The boot is in really good shape.

The rear subframe is in good condition.

A couple of other things it will need is a new wiper switch and new cones up front. The wiper switch on it now is broken at the bottom of the stock. Before my cute little daughter broke it the wipers worked fine. It will need a new choke cable too. The **** recently popped off. The choke still works, it just requires some pliers to put it out. The cones up front I’m sure are pretty old and need to be replaced, one sags more than the other causing the car to lean to the right a bit. The clutch master cylinder will need to be replaced soon, as the one in there is leaking slowly.

Car is located in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Price is $5700 OBO

Hey, back off Sanderskog!

If only we hadn't just bought new furniture, I might have had a chance at buying this one. WEll, maybe not,s ince the wife would have done crazy stuff with the money, like pay off bills and such. Where are her priorities, anyway?

Hmm.... what about a PSMINI Community Mini? We find 52 members willing to pitch in $110 and we each get the Mini for a week per year .

Bump again for ya. I really do wish it were closer.
