Hail all,

Does anyone know if those license plate frames with the LED messages that scroll across them are illegal? I thought about picking one up at a Sharper Image but the salesguy told me he was discouraging people from buying them because they weren't legal but he wasn't sure why they still had them in stock. *shrug*

Anyway, I thought I'd ask the community here in Colorado to see if anyone has heard of this before.

the Sheriff. In his county in Colorado (presumably, the whole state) the issue is not the bracket. The issue is whether the bracket covers the numerals, including the month and year of inspection on the bottom left and right.

If the numerals are all visible at 100 ft at night, the bracket is legal. If it impairs the vision of the plate et al, they are not.
