Countryman questions
Hello all!
My name is Sarah and I'm going to be ordering a countryman soon....hopefully by the end of the month. I was wondering if any of you 5280ers would be willing to talk to me about your countryman experiences? I can't wait to join 5280 with my new Mini!
Can't wait to hear from you all!

Sweet! Thanks Scott!
I'm wondering where you bought you copper? Loveland or Schomp? Did you order your car or get one off the lot? Also, did you go with the 2 part center rail or 1 rail?
What made you pick the countryman over other cars...mini or otherwise.
Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I have all of the details worked out before I take the plunge!

i am in illinois, bought it at knauz motors
i ordered it 2/17 and took delivery on 3/31
2 part center rail, i wanted to be able to lay "stuff" acroos the floor
i picked the countryman s all4 because of the 4 wheel or all wheel drive
through the years i have progressed from rear wheel to front wheel to 4 wheel drive, there is no going back
i spent over 6 months deciding, i literally checked out every 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle for sale in the usa
the countryman seemed to be the best mix of power, handling, cost, mileage and uniqueness
AND I THINK I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE!
i still giggle every time i drive the countryman
my sig at the bottom lists the options i got, you will notice no leather, no nav, no mini connect, no sunroof, no automatic
i wanted "simple" and less
if you plan on folding the seats to load stuff, be sure to order the "flat load floor" option as it (as of now) cannot be ordered after the sale as an accessory

Awesome! Your delivery really didn't take long...how long did they say it would take in comparison for it to actually show up?
I'm so glad you like it! And thank you so much for the advice about the "flat load floor" - I was trying to decide if that was an option I really wanted.
Thanks again Scott!!! I can't wait to join you as a fellow Countryman owner!

Hi Sarah,
Welcome!! I haven't received my CM yet (it's somewhere between The Panama Canal and CA). But, whichever dealer you go with, Schomp or Mini of Loveland be sure to participate in the MINI Test Drive Take Down event that is happening next week, by particpating you get a $750. coupon good towards your purchase as long as you take delivery by 7/2.
BTW, I purchased through MINI of Loveland and they have been awesome!
Have fun shopping, I can't wait to see which combination you choose. All of the choices are great, but sure do make it hard.

I purchased my All4 CM in 02/2011 and have about 16,500 miles on it. Have loved almost every minute of it. I have had a few technical issues with it but have always been well taken care of. I bought it in Loveland and at about 14k miles I got a service light and was having trouble starting it in the morning. I took it in for service at Loveland and they replaced the fuel pump, front brakes and changed the oil (was given a Ford Fiesta as a loaner for 4 days). About 2 weeks later the starting issues happened again to the point of it taking about 20 mins to start up in the morning and then the check engine light came on. This time I took it to Schomp and they said it was a faulty thermostat which they replaced (was given a base cooper hardtop as a loaner for 2 days). All of this was free of charge since it is still under warranty. Other than those slight inconveniences, I have had a blast and don't regret buying it for one second. I also chose the split rail so that I can lay stuff along the floor.
I worked with Stan at MINI of Loveland last summer for my 2012 Countryman even though I live over an hour away. My wife just got a R57 from Stan last month based on my experience with the CM.
Took delivery in Oct 2011 and the only service visit I've had was for a leaking washer fluid reservoir that required a 3 day stay. I took it to Schomp for service since they're closer (got a chocolate Hardtop S as a loaner). It's been a blast!
I second the flat load floor. It's come in handy since I also occasionally tote a pup around. I've got 2 buckets in the back and split rail that belong to 2 kids. I also got the cargo net not knowing what it was - I could do without that.
It's fun to drive and it turns heads wherever I am. I don't think people know what it is and I don't see too many in the area. I've got All4 in auto and it's a monster in the snow and in the mountains. Always sure footed with no concerns of not being able to roll away.
As mentioned, our experience was so good, my wife who I had to convince to allow me to get this went and got her own 6 months later! Have fun!

Hey Scott!
I am looking at getting:
Countryman All4, automatic Pure Red, black roof/mirrors Anthracite Headliner, Red/Black interior (cloth/leather seats), flat floor - thanks for the advice on that!, 2 part rail - thanks for the advice on that too, Cold Weather, Premium, Sport, and Technology, and sunroof.
Some options I'm trying to decide on:
Auto Dimming Mirrors
Maintenance Program Upgrades
Anything else I'm missing?
Thanks Roo! I'm planning on doing Test Drive Take Down for sure! I can't wait to hear when your car gets here! So exciting!!!
Chowell06 - so you like the warranty services so far?
Rktcyntst - Why did you choose to come to Loveland instead of Schomp? Also...was Loveland open to price negotiation with you cars? When the dog rides with you do you have any kind of protection on the back of the Mini? What tires do you have on your Mini for winter? Its really cool to hear that the car performed well in winter!
Thanks everyone for responding!!!
