IN need of clutch install

Hey 5280, I havent quite joined your club officialy yet but I got a question.
I have always had my major repairs done at Schomp(usualy under waranty) and before I left I smoked my clutch. Schomp wants a little over a grand to install an aftermarket clutch, and I really dont want my clutch total to cost me $2K. Are there any reputable MINI shops in the denver area that can knock the price down? Or I know I am fully capable of doing a clutch job (I have done them before on other cars) can you get the trans out without a lift, and does the MINI require anything special to do the job myself?
Thanks in advance for any info, Rick

I'm leaning toward this when I need it: http://www.waymotorworks.com/valeo-c...l-kit-r53.html

I just need the instalation, I have the clutch. If WAY was to do it I would need to drive (with a wore out clutch) to Atlanta Georgia. Not going to happen.

I have an ACT "Sprung" 6 puck with the ACT streetlite flywheel.

I was suggesting Way could answer your DIY questions.

Not to mention that long commute from Iraq.
Good luck.

Ya the trafic from Baghdad to denver this time of night SUCKS.

The next time I have WAY on the phone I will need to ask him how hard the job is without a lift.

Here a link that may help you decide if you think you are capable of pulling off the job.
