Southies, For those of you going to Yalla Yalla on 11 Sep, I thought if you wanted you could meet up at Chedders (Interquest Pkwy) then head up to Morrison. It looks like it would take approximately 1 hour. So I thought a meet time of 0830, then leave at 0845. That should put everyone there at 0945.

Regrettably, I will not be able to attend Yalla yalla . My work needs me to go out of town on the 10th. I was hopping someone might want to take the lead and lead the souherners up to Morrison.

I have tried to attach a link with a map to this e-mail but I do not think it worked. I have no computer skills.

Here are the addresses:
Chedders The FORT Restaurant
11136 Rampart Hills WV 19192 Highway 8
Colorado Springs, CO 80921 Morrison, CO

Thanks

Let's see. tall mountains, twisty roads, fast cars, Octoberfest, beer, lederhosen...Toto, we aren't in Kansas anymore, I think we are in Bavaria. Well holy "Yalla Yalla" that sounds like a great time.

There is no place better than to be at Yalla Yalla this Sunday (11 Sep 11). Great ride, Great people and some other great suprises are on tap for the 10th annual Yalla yalla.

Don't miss it. Meet up at Chedders for a souther Mini ride in.

You can access the Fort

1. By going thru downtown Morrison, take a left on Hwy 8 and go 2 miles

2. By going west from 470 on 285

3. Not by going east on 285 from Conifer. The exit is under construction and closed. You will have to go past Hwy 8, do a u-ey at 470, then come back and catch it westbound.

Hey everyone, not a 5280 member yet but hopefully soon. I bought an r56 justa in September and am looking to get it lowered on NM Springs. Can anyone recommend anywhere in Colo Springs to get them installed? I talked to one place and got an estimate of $600 / 5.5 hours just to install springs. Seems a bit steep for just a spring install.

I would think that the $600 would also include an alignment (2 or 4 wheel)... Are you also changing the struts out or just the springs?

It took me 2.5 hours to do my own springs so I would think a shop would be less. 600 is way too much. If you are in the Army/AF, I could help you at the auto craft shop.

Good point about the alignment, I'll have to ask them. I'm only doing the springs now, and will do the shocks in another year or so.
Maniac-unfortunately, not in the military so no access to a garage. Thanks for the offer tho.

Need a few more Southerners today to Occupy Childrens

Yes, it is the time of year for Giving. This year we will hold the 8th Annual Children's Hosptial Run for Charity. This is the time of the year when MINI5280 Members and friends collect gifts and toys for the less fortunate children who are in the hospital and being treated.

Please mark your calendar as follows:

> Sunday, November 27th
> Meetups will be North and South as before
> Arrive at Children's at 11 am
> Bring unwrapped, original toys for kids ages 3 to 13
> Your children, unfortunately, will have to stay in the lobby of the hospital (and will not get a tour) due to safety (health) rules. This is normal.

Watch this space for more information and a flyer which you can post at work with a box to collect from others. As always, we will park our MINIs right in front of The Children's Hospital for pictures.

"Occupy Children's" is our theme. Remember, we are the 1/2 of 1% who drive small, fuel efficient, high fun factor MINIs.

Here are a couple pics my wife took at the dealership when she saw the car. Its a long story but her and my daughter saw this car on the lot and were sneaking arounf to get them to let her bring it home for me to see. I already had a car on order (with a probably Februaru delivery) but we all ended up falling in love with this one.

I have better pics as soon as we can find my wife's camera....

For the R53 folks in the springs, if anyone needs a pulley puller and belt tool, I have both that I can lend to help out. But...break em and you owe me a new one

Hey, I used Elite auto glass. They came to the house, did an awesome job. We did not have insurance for the auto glass, so paid cash. It was reasonable...I will look to see if I have the receipt, the guy was great.

Need help with brake install

My warning light went off for brake pad sensor. Took it to brake plus for free inspection and an estimate. Need front pads and rotors for positive, the rear is not far behind. $804 per brake plus on Fillmore front/rear centric rotor akebone pads....I know I can do better.
Has anyone here installed there own rotors and pads? Do you have a shop you would recommend to install the brakes? I am looking to OEM the rear, and upgrade the front.
Tire world says labor is $195, but cannot warranty anything.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I can help you do'em.
Or, Import Auto Techs. is good but you will pay for their service.
For parts I like BAP Geon on Austin Bluffs, had good luck with Zimmerman rotors/Akebono pads.
Probably will need a new sensor also..

and went with Saflite for my windsheild...

New brakes for 05 Cooper s

Not sure if this is right forum to post in,

Here is My current plan for the rear...

From Way motor works

MINI OEM Rear Brake Pads and Rotors pack R50 R52 R53

OEM MINI Rear brake pads, rotors, and sensor package for 2002-2006 R50 R52 R53 MINI Cooper and Cooper S. These are not cheap aftermarket pads or rotors these are the original equipment pads and rotors from MINI and a sensor to make your next brake job easy and cost effective.*

Kit includes:*
2 MINI rear brake rotors*
2 torx bolts for rotors*
1 rear brake pad sensor*
complete set of 4 pads for both rear wheels
*
Fits 2002-2006 Cooper S R53

*
Details

*
SKU 212167242
Shipping Cost $15.00
Price: $139.95
Options

this seems like the most cost friendly option, and the rears still have a little life left at 54k miles.

For the front would like to upgrade...most of the rotors don't list those torx bolts, are those universal?

Is upgrading the stainless steel brake lines a good idea?

What is best brake fluid?
