AMVIV7
I know it's early, but the Sin City Mini Club has just booked the hotel for AMVIV7. If anyone's interested in going and staying in the "home hotel" it's $99 a night and it's looking like the rooms are going to sell out fast, the new hotel only has 200 rooms and they have booked all of them for the event.
The event will be going from March 25-28 2010, you can find any additional information here.

I also have a question, this will be our very first AMVIV and it's looking like Joe and I are going to be booking a room as soon as possible. We were also hoping if there's a MINI5280 convoy heading up from Colorado that we would be taking part in that too. Now for the question part, in the past have the convoys arrived the first day of AMVIV or the evening before? I was wondering if we should book for the first day of AMVIV or if we needed to add an extra night to our reservations just to be safe. Thanks for the feedback!

The one AMVIV I went to a couple of years ago, I believe there was 2 or 3 different groups leaving from Denver.
One group did the leave early, drive all day and get there the evening before.
Our little convoy of three MINIs drove out and did an overnight stay in Greenriver (I think it was Greenriver...UTAH), then we drove in to LV on the first day of the event.
As it gets closer, post up some suggestions. Sometimes folks coming from the East and North like to meet up with some of the MINI folks and motor out to AMVIV.
I'm thinking this year I go east in the Spring for a run on the Dragon, but I may not go on the MOTD weekend.

R&W Booked
We've booked our Aliante Station room for AMVIV 7 (2010). Our check-in is Thursday (3/25) and check-out is Sunday (3/28). So far, we'd like to caravan with other MINIs leaving EARLY on 3/25 and driving straight through. Leaving later the day before (3/24) and overnighting somewhere along the way is also a possibility. Planning to return on 3/28 with a caravan, if possible. Please post here and on the MINI5280 Calendar or PM me.

We're still considering extending the trip by leaving/arriving 1 day earlier. For now, we've secured a room for the AMVIV dates. I have a feeling that the 200 AMVIV-host hotel rooms will go fast. Please visit the MINI5280 Calendar (here on NAM) and click the "I will be attending" link (to add your handle to the list). Helps everybody see who's going and who they might want to caravan with.

Leaving for AMVIV 3/24 early
I've added another day to our reservations so that we can leave early on Wed. 3/24 and arrive that night at AMVIV! We're staying 4 nights and leaving early on 3/28 for the trip back home (Littleton). Of course, we'd like to caravan.
I suggest we meet at the NW corner parking lot of I-70 & CO Hwy 26 (Exit 259)/Red Rocks Park. It's 733 miles from Exit 259 to AMVIV (North LV), so we'll be on the road for at least 11.5 hours PLUS STOPS. Since Nevada is in the Pacific timezone, we'll gain an hour going to AMVIV and lose an hour on the return trip. At this time of year, snow is still a possibility, so our route has always been I-70 west to I-15, then south to LV. Easy.
For the MINI5280 caravan leaving early on 3/24, let's agree on a departure time. I'm suggesting 6:00 AM (wheels rolling, get there sooner) at the above location. How about it?

Rick,
Last year we met the caravan at the same parking lot at 7AM and left at 7:30AM. Drove straight thru, stopping for gas and restrooms. Arrived before 5PM Vegas time. Not a speeding tix and everyone had a good time during the drive. We may leave on Monday to visit Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, and back to Vegas by Friday. Caravan with everyone back to Denver on Sunday morning.
that's the plan at this moment.

I would certainly like to hook up and carvan. I will be coming from Colorado Springs. I reserved 24-28 Mar. I will be returning from out of town on 23 Mar. I was thinking of taking two days (24-25). I will have to change reservation if I arrive on the 25th. I will depart on the 28th and may take 1 or 2 days on the way back. I have not made the trip before so I am still deciding.
Question
I reserved the room and Aliente Station. I did not see a place for registration on the web site. Do we just register upon arrival?
If anyone is going 24-25 Mar and wants to carvan let me know.
Thanks
Ray

I would like to join in a carvan too. I return from out of tonw on 23 Mar so I was planning on taking two days (24-25) to get there. If anyone is planning on going that way I would like to join in. I may take 1 or 2 on the way back. Departing on 28 Mar. I have not gone before so I am still working out my plan.

Joe's right. Keep an eye on www.amviv.com for registration to begin. At that time, the schedule of events, etc. will also be posted (updated to 2010). Should be fun! I wouldn't wait too long to add 3/24 to your hotel arrangements if you need to. You can always change it later.

Event Registration Now Open
If you're planning to attend the 2010 AMVIV, please do the Sin City MINI Club a favor and preregister now. It greatly helps their planning process and you'll be certain to receive your prepurchased hats, shirts, etc. upon arrival. If you arrive unregistered, you will miss out on shirt sizes, vendor goodie bag and other benefits.
Note that AMVIV event registration is separate from the host hotel reservations. See the AMVIV site for the hotel group rate and further information.

We are going.
Robert,Luanne and David
But.. David has school,(CSAP week). We'll take him out early on Thursday and plan on getting to Grand JCT for the night. Then arrive in Vegas Friday afternoon in time for the "Strip Cruise". For Sunday we are continuing west to San Diego, CA. So no return caravan back to Denver for us. I"m sure there will be lots of MINIs and Minis heading back to SoCal we can ride with.
So we will try to hookup with other MINI5280'ers Friday afternoon and Saturday.
Robert
PS. Got our room at Aliante Station back in October and pre Registered today 12/31.

AMVIV reg back online
Agro resolved the PayPal problems and AMVIV registration is now back online and operational. Head over to www.amviv.com for full event and registration information.

No problem
No, I am not. The problem was that PayPal was not going to release the registration payments to AMVIV organizers until the date of AMVIV, so AMVIV organizers temporily suspended futher registration. All is well now. AMVIV gets to use their money now and your registration is fine, according to Agro's message to everybody who's already registered or on his list from previous years.
