We have a few that heard about the ground breaking at MITM and say they will try to make it, so we are over 20 cars now. I hope their photographer has a wide angle lens!
The more the merrier Rich. We should poll and see what models we have coming. I would bet they are going to call the TV stations also. I am really looking forward to it! Playing hookie and everything!!
So I have a funny story for all of you. I am new Clubman owner and got it at Ralph Schomp in June. When they filled out my temp tags for CO they put an expiration date on those tags. Guess what the date is. 8/26/09. The 50th Anniversary of the Mini!! I am framing that bad boy after I have everyone who show up to the ground breaking sign it.
WOOO HOOO got the day off from work!! So are we going on a ride afterwards?? Perhaps Stove Prairie Rd (my new favorite road)since we will be very close.
There will be a group of us meeting at the Radison hotel parking lot off I-25 at 120th ave. Leave at 8:00AM sharp and then motoring way up north. Too early for snow tires?
Here's a map: Radisson
See y'all there, it's right down the street from me.

I could meet there on 120th. Thanks Rich! Let me see if someone around the Littleton/Denver area has room first. Thank you!! I have a call to Christina Dawkins (COS BMW) & can hopfully talk to her in person tomorrow @ the dealership.

For those that want to do a Run just after the Ground Breaking festivites (about noon), here is what we have come up with (just short of 3 hours). MINI Ground Breaking Run
The Run starts from MINI of Loveland, goes thru Loveland, loops north of Masonville (twisties) and ends up back across the street from MINI of Loveland at the nation's largest Hooters, for those that want a late lunch or early dinner.
Thanks everybody! I'm going to meet up north and ride with Teresa S.
We'll miss you Chuck. Jamie...thanks. I'll call you. Are you driving alone? Thanks for getting all this together Rich!
SWEET!
I knew the MINI community was "fun" if not "different"(?) and this whole event proves my point! I've been out of the loop/ off the site for awhile as I'm sort of penniless...Not really, but my wife wants to go to Italy and so all my MINI play money is going to that effort.
The punch line is I can't wait for MINI of Loveland to open...Thanks for doing all the leg work on this people! See ya there
