We need 10 MINIs to make this happen. He is willing to come to Denver.

I suspect we will use the Parker facility, since a lot of us have baselines on that dyno from our February 5280 dyno day.

Rick and I have everyone's DynoJet files if you did not save them or get them from that day.

So, let's start a count, costs are not absolutely set for the R56 crowd.

R53 costs are $350 plus dyno time (1 to 1.5 per MINI), which is at the tuner rate at MAC, check online if you want to see the current tuner rate.

RMW has been posting $800 for a R56 tune which included the shop dyno time, so I suspect we would be in this range for the R56 tune, but it is not set.

R56 Interest.

1. Don Suiter (old81) - 07 R56 (scooter - automatic)
2. U Toscano - (no-nam) 09 JCW
3. Michael Suoo (michaelsuoo)- 07 R56 MCSa
4. Ryan Dantino (MiniEnvy)-08 R56 MCSa
5. Seth - (MiniManiac74) - 08 R56 MCS -- Interested, if travel allows.

R53 Interest.

1. Tommy Zito - possible if car together
2. 0wen0 - Owen
3. Hippie - Jeff

Need some input from you all.

I will update and move my master.

What month and days work best for all of you, we are getting very close to the required number?

I will see what type of deal (if any) we can swing at the dyno shop. I will be talking with RMW/Jan this week if I can catch him.

Updated Master

Another update: we are right on the edge, so I will start making arrangements and suggesting dates in this thread.

Please send me a PM with your contact telephone number, full name, and mods on your MINI. Such as CAI, Exhaust, cat-back, full DP cat-back, etc.

I will build an working information file for Jan to use on tune days.

Any more interested parties

Master is in post #30.

Please send me your info in a PM. We are one short of getting 10. Any more R53 folks want a RMW/Jan tune?

Any of the Clubbie owners want a little more torque and HP? Per the threads a number of happy folks are getting the R56 tunes and making good numbers.

When I get 10 I will work to set days and work the dyno place.

Don - not to open a can of worms but a couple questions.

1 - Will Jan/RMW come out for the 9 we have lined up ?

2 - If not would everyone consider asking Mynes if they will come to Denver for 9 tunes ?

It never hurts to ask the question - especially considering the current economy.

With the last posting with shadyj and (IF) nobody cancels out, we do have our numbers, 5 R53 & 5 R56.

I do not have the desire to mix in or want to mess with the conflicts of trying to get two tuners to Denver. Jan and I have talked it is doable.

Jan tunes R53s and R56s/R55s/R57s/09 JCW, not sure if Mynes is set up for R56 types, I like what I see with Jan and his company with RMW.

If someone wants to work with Mynes or have a Mynes tune, start another thread. Just try not to overlap our activity.

I will PM Jan in a bit and see where he is this weekend and if we can talk early next week. I know he is busy with the race season and doing tunes out east.

Don

Btw, not a bad set of suggestions, just not for this one.

I will update post #30.

updated post#30

Hi,

Still need information from folks.

Name (real) contact cell # or phone #, mods on your car.

Intercoolest was added so they could finish his tune from the Dragon, no dyno at the Dragon.

I'm still trying to nail down Jan on dates, that man is busy this summer.

Jan and I hooked up on the telephone today. Busy schedule for both of us.

His is extra busy.

We have have set a date for August 14 and August 15, Friday and Saturday for tuning. Edit: 10:15pm, we may move this date out a month to September. So let me know if Sept. 18/19 or Sept. 25/26 are better dates.

This is what Jan has open that works.

I am going to get with the Parker dyno folks to see if we can get dedicated dyno time on Friday and Saturday. I will be working on pricing of the dyno time.

R53 tunes $350 plus dyno time.

R56 tunes $800 includes dyno time, unless the rate is high then we will add to the the cost for the R56/R55/R57.

Jan has the R53 reflash tools available, if you want a reflash tool, work with Jan directly.

The R56 reflash tool is in progress and real close to being available, per Jan today. Cost at the time is unknown for the R56 reflash tool.

Jan does keep copies of your tune so if the dealer re-flashes your ECU with dealer upgrades for some reason, your tune can be reapplied.

You will need to work those details of a refresh/reapply with Jan at a future time.

Contact me, I'm still waiting for details from some of the folks on the list.

Send me the best time/day which works for you. Times will be from 9AM to 6PM on each day. Last car on dyno at 5:30, I am suspecting.

Also, more can get on the list, too. See post #30.

Don

Update - RMW Tune List Aug. 14/15

New Master: Update July 20, 2009 ***

I am moving the master list to this post versus leaving it up in post ##30.

We need 10 MINIs to make this happen. Jan is coming to Denver!

We will use the Parker facility, since a lot of us have baselines on that dyno from our February 5280 dyno day.

Rick and I have everyone's DynoJet files if you did not save them or get them from that day.

So, let's start a count, costs are not absolutely set for the R56 crowd.

R53 costs are $350 plus dyno time (1 to 1.5 per MINI), which is at the tuner rate of $100 per hr., see update in next posting.

RMW has been posting $800 for a R56 tune which included the shop dyno time.

See my posting above for more details and some questions about the current set weekend in August.

R56 Interest.

1. Don Suiter (old81) - 07 R56 (scooter - automatic)
2. U Toscano - OUT --- Travel to Italy conflict (no JCW)
3. Michael Suoo (michaelsuoo)- 07 R56 MCSa
4. Ryan Dantino (MiniEnvy)-08 R56 MCSa
5. Seth - (MiniManiac74) - 08 R56 MCS-- Interested, wife will bring MINI
6. Andrew - (thescalz86) - 08 R56 MCS --
7.
8.

R53 Interest.

1. Tommy Zito - in per posting.
2. 0wen0 - Owen
3. Hippie - Jeff
4. Dan Seals - Dan
5. shadyj
6. Intercoolest (Mike) dyno time re-tune/finish a tune.
7. jonothanl - no mods via Tommy Zito
8. Bahman - 06 Checkmate
9.

A little update. - Jan RMW Tune

Good News,

MAC Autosport has agreed to the usage of the facility on August 14/15 for the Jan/RMW tune days.

Rate for dyno time is set at $100 per hr, so if you go over an hour the charges will increase by $25 per 1/4 hour. Example: 1hr 15min. = $125.00

This is less than the normal MAC hourly rate for a group with a National Tuner.

Jan B./RMW is good to come out for the Friday and Saturday Tune days.

Normally payments for the tune will go to Jan B. Revolution Mini Works, he will pay the dyno facility. I need to work the details with Jan. (more info. to come).

I need details from folks, please pick a time for your tune. Also, a list of your mods so Jan can do the custom tuning needed for the best result.

Start time daily will be 9:00 AM, I plan on being at MAC each day at 8:45-9:00.

I will update this thread with time slots and update the folks attending.

Don
