We just went to Kathmandu for dinner and the roads are like some kind of snow rally track...

Yes, next Saturday is looking good. I put away the book around 2:30am and it was snowing lightly in Louisville.

Now at 10:25am it is still drifting down with a nice soft flake.

I imagine some of our route around Ft. Collins up the Poudre Canyon would be slick.

I really wanted to try out the new springs on the road back down to Masonville.

OK so I'm heading to Montana tomorrow (way too warm here) and I may or may not have internet access. I will be home late on Friday so I want to make sure everyone is still up to speed on the ride for Saturday.
I've changed the calendar date and it has all the particulars but in summary -
Saturday 9:00 AM meet at the south end of the Albertsons parking lot on N. College Ave in Ft. Collins. We will drive some of Highway 14 then turn south to Masonville then west to Estes then south to Nederland and then east to Wondervu and the WonderVu Café. Should get there about 1 or 2 and have some fine Mexican food for lunch.
Can I ask someone to call the Café on Friday just to let them know that we will be there? I talked to them last weekend when we rescheduled so they should be aware but it doesn't hurt to refresh the memory.
WonderVu Café - (303) 642-7197

Hey all, what's the plan this weekend? If it's nice and I get my Mini fixed this week, I might pop in for the ride.

Sorry, I was going to jump in too. Jamie if you get hung up let me know. Don

Is it still a good idea to meet at Cinos at 8 for the drive up to the Ft. Collins start point?

I'm game, if others are wanting a coffee for the road. I will be driving solo this Saturday. I know what's new.

I'll be there Don (assuming I don't freeze to death in MT). Good time for a good coffee.

Me too, I can always go for a cup of Chai. I'll have a new co-pilot for this ride.

Not me

Sorry, you won't be gracing you with my presence (yeah, right). I've got a surprise party in Colo Spgs to attend later that day, so I'll be heading south. Have fun. I'll expect a full report.

What time will you all be leaving Cino's and will you be coming up 287? We are thinking about catching you in Longmont and riding to Ft. Collins with you. Not sure how much of the drive into the mountains we can make but we'd still like to hang out for a bit...

Well I won't be making this now. I am helping a buddy coach a youth soccer team and he told me last night that we have our first practice on Saturday morning.

Cinos at 8

I will see you there for coffee at Cino's before you take off, at least. If anyone wants a navigator ride-along I am up for that.....but not for driving. I would explain, but u wouldn't understand.

I imagine we will be on the road up 287 by 8:15, so 8:30 thru Longmont.

You have my cell or Chucks? If not, PM me.

I spoke to the WonderVu Cafe to let them know we would be there tomorrow. I also talked with my driver who delivers up in that area and she said the roads are clear and dry. See everyone at Cino's in the morning.

Nice drive

A very nice day for a drive, it was well represented by the folks from South Denver, Louisville, Nederland and Longmont. We seemed to miss a few folks from the Norther most Northern contingent.

Great drive, great weather and some nice twisties and photo opportunities.

Food at the Wondervu Cafe was very good, scale of 1-10 a 7 or 8 for my breakfast omelet, some of the others looked like 10s.

Pictures, since we could not get them up on FB via mobile upload are @my Picasa.

More to come, I am sure.

Don

Nice drive and it served the purpose well. My cabin fever is at bay for a while (till next month).
Pretty dry roads and very nice scenery. I too was disappointed in the Ft Collins turn out - or lack there of.
We will be having a club meeting at the WonderVu cafe sometime in the warmer months.
Thanks for the pictures Don.

I really was hoping to make this one, I needed to repair the Mini. My coolant expansion tank decided to part ways with itself. Oh, by the way, Broadway north from C470 to Schomp is in dire need of repaving. Someone needs to call someone or something...
