Awesome, also, I think it is great that MINI5280 contributed to the fund. Thanks to Don for the idea and motivation for the group.

Can anyone say road trip to HPR for some "under construction" photo ops?

I can't wait to get some real track time in the car again.

Yes, Yes, and yes...

HPR could not have done this without you.

Every dollar counts, perhaps we can get some time one the track for some TT format or lapping in 2009.

Join up with another one of the clubs to ensure we have good insurance coverage unless MINI5280 has coverage through another association.

Should be fun. Of course HPR and the clubs needs more $$$ support, so we have a nice set of eating, bathroom and timing facilities on the new track.

Going to bump this up into current reading for some winter thoughts.

HPR is actively recruiting for volunteer workers to construct and move tire barriers on the new facility.

They meet each Saturday, you can go to the HPR website to link to the volunteer information area.

If you have the desire, please consider spending part of a Saturday helping out.

Also, RMVR is actively looking for new corner workers to provide safety at the new track. Corner working is a great way to get into Vintage sports car racing as a volunteer and a great transition to becoming a race car driver.

With 14 turns this track is going to need lots of staff. RMVR does provide lunches, overnight accommodation and some Saturday night dinners for workers.

Being a RMVR Worker volunteer has other free benefits as well as lunch time worker rides in (race cars).

See the RMVR website for details and who to contact. http://rmvr.com/

Hi Dave,

Around 60 miles east of central Denver. A good days run for you KC folks, but very doable.

Here is the HPR link. A lot of new information has been posted these past few weeks. Take a look at the youtube simulations and the real video, very neat.

Thanks, I was just thinking that it's a doable weekend deal for a group of us KC guys/gals who like to spend some quality time at speeds not legal on the highways.

We have a monthly event at Heartland Park the third Wed of the month from April to Oct; it's insanely cheap (oops, don't let the PTB at HPT read that, they'll raise the price!) as we get 4 - 5 20 min runs for $60 and from 4 to 10 of us KC Miniacs go each month.

If the 5280 club organizes a weekend HPDE or something, please post it to our website or get me the info and I will do it for you. It would be fun if something could be done in conjunction with MITM this year, but I imagine it will be HOT out there come August, just like at HPT! (We call our August runs at HPT "Surface of the Sun" racing!)

Congrats on the new venue, and for getting it done in these uncertain economic times.........
