I have updated the calendar event for this ride to reflect the revised itinerary that Mike has formulated. Please read the meeting time, chair recommendations and restroom advisories carefully.

Yep! But I guess that I better go read the changes per Chuck's post! It sounded like a big deal... anytime you mess with potty breaks it could be a really big deal! lol

I had hoped that would prompt people to read the calendar.

CHANGE IN PLANS...........
In case I can't get a car from work, would anyone take me along with them as a co-pilot? My driver can't go on the ride & I really want to go. I'm going to try & get a car from work but won't know until Friday evening.
thanks!

2.5 days left before you get your fill of Castle dust....

Bring chairs if you have them, they'll be handy at Bishop's & Burg Mary Castles if you want to sit / where you want to sit.

We counted 6 picnic tables around Bishop's & half dozen unpadded benches inside Burg Mary. (That's the old: 6 at one, half dozen at the other, count. )

We can/will take additional restroom stops if/as needed.

The Denver group may want to consider driving home by leaving from Woodland Park N. on Hwy 67 to Deckers, Hwy 126 to Pine Jct. / 285 to Denver.

Mike has provided the Google Map link of the route: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...3,4.526367&z=9
So if someone is handy and can convert it to a down-loadable GPS map for the MINI nav that would help those who have one. I on the other hand navigate by the sun so it will not do me any good at all.

Good time. (what we could make)

Had fun, too bad the wife and I could not make the whole run. It was nice meeting more of the MINI5280 group! See you at MITM!

Chuck,
Forgot to tell you, I have some of the MITM plates allotted for "door prizes".

Glenn Erie first stop.

Great fun everybody, lots of good motoring and friends. No pictures from me, our camera was DoA today.

We're looking forward to seeing what everyone came up with for photos.

I had a great time! Too bad Shelly didn't enjoy herself - arms in the air, whoop'n & holler'n - it's a real shame she didn't have any fun.

Fun event, almost to much for an old guy. We had fun motoring home after dinner in the dark. I think I lost another Cabrio but Rudebox stuck with me.

Yeah, Jacob, I like to motor slow.

Pictures are linked here in a private album, If Chuck wants to use the MINI lineup pictures for the newsletter, perhaps Intercoolest can get permission.

Private Album - MINI5280 Castle to Castle July 2008, enjoy.

I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to go. My life got a little complicated! (and still is right now!) I'm sure glad that you could get a ride, Shelly! I felt horrible about not being able to take you.

Yup, missed you Vicki.
Thanks for the great pictures Don. I'm going to snag a few for the August newsletter if you don't mind.

Castle to Castle...way home

Thank you all for such an exciting trip! Each castle had to be appreciated for it's own purpose, of course.
YES! I dropped out on the way home after dinner. It being dark...and I just couldn't go sooooooo fast anymore. The anxiety was giving me stomach pains. This trip created a memory for the rest of my life. If I'd only read the earlier threads about the slackers driving at the end of the line, that's where I would have been!
So...I'm taking orders for wind shields for you Cabrio owners that go between the 2 front seats. Any color. Only $50. I didn't realize mine would be such a hit.

Use away, but wait for some others. I think Andy, Rich and Teena and others were snapping away.

Joanne, it was fun motoring along with you, I am usually in the middle or back on most of these runs. Swapping around as you comfort level dictates is what makes these fun.

Just don't try to keep up with Jacob, Rick, Chuck or Intercoolest or some of the others, it's frustrating but entertaining.

Castle Reflection...

I am very thankful for the opportunity yesterday to share this fun experience, great friends & amazing places w/ my Mini5280 family.

After seeing the pictures Don took, I hope Neady & Reo's Mini didn't catch too much "Bag-Pipe Spit"!

Herman & Mary Beeh are friends now to each of you that went to their "Open Castle"! No different than how Herman & I got acquainted through a mutual friend nearly 30 years ago. It was so impressive to see how much joy our Mini's brought to the Beeh's & their neighbors!

Herman told me that he & several others were up on the Castle's watch tower as our convoy came into hearing distance. They laughed out loud as, before they could even see us, they could hear the dull roar of 15 Mini's approaching. Almost like a million angry buzzing bees a 1/2 mile away!

The Beeh's hope that their new Mini Friends will stop by if in the area. They are home 99% (until Herman gets his own Mini) & love to have people visit. Especially if they drive Mini Coopers!

For those who missed out.... let's plan a reverse "Tweet me to some Twisties Ride" from Denver to Pine Jct. to Deckers through Woodland Park, etc. We could stop there again!

Mike & Sarah

We were bummed not to make the entire trip but we were happy that the timing was perfect for meeting up with everyone. Here are just a few photos after meeting up with the gang in Florence.

Teena/Rich - I'm happy you made some of the trip too! Nice pictures and you can hardly see the smoke rising from your clutch.
I must say that Mike's timing was very impressive. We were on time or ahead of schedule the entire day. I like being on time.
