Western Slope Run

Nancy has contacted an Inn in Ouray. The link is posted on the MINI5280 Event calendar. They open May 1st, however their 800 number takes your message. Call and leave your contact info, **** IMPORTANT ***** use "MINI5280" for your reservation for 2 nights, Fri the 13th and Sat the 14th. Rate is $100.00/night. Includes breakfast bar. Book ASAP---limited rooms. The rate is cheaper than in Durango ($120-150/nite). This is going to dictate a route change. Will post revised route by Sunday the 16th. Just got off the phone with the owner. They have blocked 10 rooms for us. This is a NO Smoking inn.

Here's a friendly BUMP to remind folks of this event.

I've made a call to the hotel and hopefully they'll ring me back to confirm the room. So yeah, we're in. Looking forward to another great drive Dave. We won't even have to leave early this time.

we are almost in. Trying to get tickets for the bluegrass festival in telluride for the following weekend. It is sold out for saturday so we might just join the drive and enjoy Telluride before the trustafarians take over. Will figure it all out in a couple of days.

we are excited. Just finalized the reservations for the hot springs inn. The lady told me it was only $85 with breakfast. If you were charged $100, you might want to call them back and then by me a guiness.

cheers

I called back again today and spoke with someone. She was very helpful and got me set up for the weekend; we're officially reserved. Hooray!

Now we just need to wait a month. Boo!

In other news the lady I spoke with said that she's been thinking about buying a cooper and hopes to be there and working that weekend so she can meet us and see the cars.

Oh, I was also quoted $85 a night, so like chilimac says you might want to check on that.

I called the Hot Springs Inn about the price and I guess they have a couple of new girls working there that quoted the $85 but it should have been $100. Renee said she would charge all of us the $85 so as not to be confusing. What a deal! Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Currently she has booked 7 rooms for us. That leaves 3 rooms saved. I will release them on 6/1 so if you are sitting on the fence, now is the time to call them
Durango has a lot going on that Saturday - Ride the Rockies registration and "Whose your Daddy" festival. Lot's of fun! I sent everyone who signed up an email requesting some information. If you have not responded, please read your private messages and respond soon. We will need a count for the dinners. We are so excited to have repeat MINI's going and some new ones. It will be a blast. Nancy

Does anyone going on this trip have an empty passenger seat that is also willing to take along a male passenger? I have a possible situation to work out.

PM me if so & I will discuss the details.

Mike

Or you could say that we have a

VIP guest coming along, who has ridden shotgun with me, driven, and is fun, easy and safe to be with....

Sorry guys, my passenger seat is full already. Unless someone wants to cramp into the back I don't think I can help.

Still looking forward to the trip though, hooray!

JPS
A good friend to Mini5280, Dan H. w/ St. Louis Mini Club, wants to attend the Western Slope run. We talked at MOTD-6 about him Flying to CO. & riding w/ me.....

We have our 3rd Grand-baby due by June-2-soon, our youngest daughter's 1st. My wife is expecting/wanting to be needed..... but if the baby comes sonner than later & everyone is doing good..... she is also wanting to keep an option open to attend the Western Slope trip.

Sorry for a long explaination but the Mini Cooper has caused an addictive life style for us. We are looking for some co-dependancy here to enable our compulsive wants....

Dan, Sarah & I could fit into our Mini & take advantage of an empty seat if/when available.

Dan may not be able to come or Sarah may be needed at home, no worries.

Just sharing the situation incase there is availability.

Thanks,

My name is Mike.... & I am a Miniholic....

Hi Mike. <claps>

My name's Jacob... and... I'm a Miniholic too. Wait a tic. Forget rehab meetings, I don't want to kick this habit. I don't care if it kills me!

Hopefully everything works out, good luck on the new baby too; it's always exciting!

Micheal, bring the woollies, your going to freeze your butt off. It is cold camping in those parts, but it is a lot of fun.

Enjoy and take lots of pictures all of you.

Heh Michael, glad you are able to make it on our run. It is going to be fun, fun, fun! I am going to send you a private message to answer a few questions. (like dinner, etc) If you are dead set on roughing it, you can use our room to take showers and warm up. If you change your mind, rooms are just $85 a night. Just ask for the MINI5280 special. I will be releasing any unreserved rooms on 6/1. We will be soaking in the hotsprings Friday night too so that should take the chill off. Woo hoo....we can't wait! Nancy and David

Definitely something to consider Michael. We'll have to see how we're feeling and where your camped. I might not mind visiting, but there's no way you'll get Christine to sleep out there; she's not the roughing it type. See you soon enough.
