We too are home, barely settled in and ready to being our week. It was overall a great weekend and I want to thank David and Nancy for getting us together and everyone else for making the drives so much fun.

Like Randy we've got pictures; 101 keepers for us (LINK). They're moderate size, and as he said I've got large originals too.

Some are better than others, others have smudges that are (unfortunate) evidence of the attempted genocide of all bug kind (man my front end is way gross).

Enjoy!

Had to wash the MINI when I got home, totally disgusting... But now it's nice and clean and happy in the garage...

Hey Jacob, nice picts. I think it's awesome we got so many Red, White and Blue picts. Great job getting so many on the initial drive, if only we had gotten the Michael windows picts..

Nice work guys. I hope to be able to swing this ride next year. Looks like you had a great trip. Did Michael suffer any frostbite?

Thanks for the pics....they are terrific. David will be posting his soon. We haven't had any spare time since we landed back in Denver. Glad you could all make it. Ouray was so beautiful and everyone was so nice. I am still having nightmares about falling off the mountain pass between Ouray and Durango. I may need some therapy. Thanks for coming. Nancy

In need of Therapy...

Nancy, I would guess that additional shock therapy should be ruled out?

So after 1,056 miles, a freaking incident that needed a driver side window replacement, a few gas stops, and a box of tissues (to stop the bleeding on my gorgeous leg), and a blood stained shorts, we are still alive and kicking!!

We got to Ouray the first night around 8:30 PM... Figured it was a bit too late to pitch the tent, we stayed in a cabin for one night instead. Even though it was a bit chilly at night, it was fun sitting by fire, drinking beers and chatting with Mike G. and Jenn for both nights... Mike shared all the interesting stories about Dragon runs, his oversea trips to Asia, his theory about how spicy food cured his illness, as well as his son's intercooler designing company... And my fajitas dinner were top rated... just ask Mike...

Too bad that no one shows up for our very own S'more festival...

Wish I could have gone to the hot spring with everyone but with a open wound on my leg.... I know better...

We did the whole ride with Randy and Jacob... San Juan Scenic By way, Mesa Verde Ntl Park, and a Million dollar highway... Just like Nancy, Jenn was a bit scared on the way back to Ouray... But as soon as she saw the S'more that night, she was back to her normal self....

On Sunday, we didn't drive back with everyone since we decided to sleep in after a long day of driving on Saturday... but really couldn't since the tent got really hot by 10AM... We walked around Ouray and had a breakfast there.... the Best Green chile Jenn and I have ever eaten!!!

We got back to Denver around 5 PM...

It was a fantastic trip and thanks to Dave and Nancy for setting up this trip and Rick and Wendy for stopping to help us clean up the car after the incident....

Beef Stew on Saturday night

Oh forgot to mention that the beef stew on Saturday night at our camp was yummy as well... and it was prepared by our very own iron chef Jenn....
Just want to make sure that it is mentioned on this thread or she who must be obeyed may give me the "eye".

I finally got around to posting our photos; I hope I do this right.

Thank you again Nancy and Dave for an awesome trip. What a great group of people we had. Thanks Jacob for the use of your walkie-talkie and Mike, John truly enjoyed riding shotgun with you on the most exciting part of the Million Dollar Highway.

Much thanks to everyone at MINI5280 for hosting a really fun weekend. Daphne and I enjoyed meeting many of you, and look forward to other trips across the mountains with you in the future.

I've posted some pictures at http://www.flickr.com/photos/3084123...7605678035109/. Guess I ran out of steam once we made it to Durango, but there's a few good shots.

I've posted photos to my SmugMug album here. Many thanks to Nancy & David for their careful planning (group discounts, weekend planners and more!) and making sure everyone was taken care of. It was lots of fun for Wendy and I even though we had to leave the MINI behind (in the shop) and motor in a Camry (with temporary MINI badges) -- still piloted by a MINI driver (me). The southwestern Colorado mountains are not to be missed!
