AMVIV5 registrations are now open

AMVIV registrations are now open for the March 27-30, 2008 event.
Go to www.AMVIV.com/reg.htm to sign up.
When you click the submit button, you will be taken to the checkout page.

If you want to pay with PayPal, add all your items to your cart and pay. If you want to pay by check, please print your registration page, then put all your items in the PayPal cart and print the PayPal cart page. Please include
these printouts with your check (payable to Sin City MINI Club) and mail them to:
Sin City MINI Club
AMVIV V Registration
3195 Shadow Bluff Ave
Las Vegas, NV 89120

Any purchases that do not include either a car registration or vendor registration will be cancelled and refunded.

After your payment is received, you will receive an email confirmation. If you have not gotten an email confirmation from Andrew Ross aka Agro, YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED.

Vendor registrations are not yet open. We will be contacting prior AMVIV vendors and other companies that have contacted us during the year regarding becoming a vendor. The vendor registrations will open some time after the New Year.

If you haven't booked your hotel room yet, you should do so ASAP. When I talked to Palace Station on Thursday, there were only a few Tower rooms left on our group rate of $129. Palace has just raised the non-group rate for AMVIV weekend to $219 per night for Tower rooms.

There are still over 100 Garden rooms left on the group rate, but they fill up pretty fast and once they're gone, that's all she wrote.

To book at Palace Station, call the Palace Station Reservations Office at 1-800-634-3101. Use reservation ID "PCIMVIV" or identify yourself as a Sin City MINI Club attendee. All room rates are plus tax.

See you in March.

OK gang, who's going and when. We are trying to get some kid sitting help from Wyoming so we can go.
We would probably leave on Wednesday 26 March and possibly overnite in Green River or thereabouts. Coming home we would probably leave early on Sunday morning and drive straight home. Might have to leave on Saturday though depending on sitter.
So who else is planning on this event?

We're talking about it as well; some friends of ours are supposed to be taking delivery of a new MCS this week or next and are talking about coming down also. I believe that Rick and Wendy were also talking about AMVIV in '08, but I'll let him commit if that's the case.

No firm decision on whether we're going, much less the dates, so we'll keep you posted into next year.

This has potential, still in the planning stage. I was thinking I would drive out then have my wife fly out on Sunday PM, then we would continue a National Park visit for a few days after the event.

It might work, we shall see if it all pans out.

I really wish I could make it this year, but we will just be getting home from Westmoreland, Jamaica...and with working weekends, I can't take another weekend off. I don't have enough vacation time saved as I have only been at the new job for 3 months :(

So, hopefully I can make the trip in 2009!!!

Vegas, baby!

We're in! Wendy and I will be attending AMVIV 2008. We're staying at the Palace Station (but not in the O.J. room) Thursday thru Sunday. Would like to travel with other MINIs by: 1) leaving Denver area on Wednesday (driving part way then overnight), or 2) early Thursday, driving all day. Returning on Sunday. Possible plans to stay several days in St. George, UT to extend the trip before or after AMVIV. Anyone else interested in St. George? We're thinking of hiking, relaxing, etc. at a resort.

Note that the AMVIV registration site (using PayPal) works better with Windows Internet Explorer than with the Firefox 2.0 browser.

It does? I use Firefox exclusively when testing.
I thnk PayPal is having some issues these days. I haven't been able to download the transaction history since 12/26 which is why the registration count hasn't been updated.

Done. Alberta and I will be leaving Denver on Wednesday 26 March. I was thinking of overnighting in Green River unless someone has a better suggestion. We will be in Vegas for Thursday and departing on Sunday morning early for a straight-thru drive to Denver (work on Monday).
I had no problems making reservations on the Palace website nor any issues with registration using PayPal for AMVIV.
As we get closer, we can plan our caravan from Denver to AMVIV. More is better.

Chuck

Is there a organized 5280 Caravan group? Who is planning to be in the group and lastly, when will the group be getting into Vegas?

I am curious as to how under 21 friendly this trip will be? From past years was a lot of the activities limited to 21 and up? Ill be 20 in april but I have been to Vegas and experienced first hand how boring it can be for minors when everyone takes off for the clubs and night life.

Speaking from my experience last year, I don't think it will be a problem. Though I'm over 21 on the last AMVIV trip I gambled not a dime and only had a few alcoholic beverages over the course of the week (with dinner and the like). Frankly we were too tired from motoring to go partying.

I'm sure you'll find that there are many folks that care not for the wild clubbing. Generally our time was spent motoring, hanging out at mini events (like the boot and bonnet show and dinners) and general sightseeing. We even found a few really good restaurants.

Don't feel discouraged from going; so long as you're interested in MINI happenings, the Sin City Motorclub will keep your schedule pretty full.

In other news it's looking more and more like we're going to be coming to Vegas again. I still need to talk my other friends into chiming in on NAM, but there should be two cars on our side.

There is time for "adult" stuff if you want to seek it out, but AMVIV is about as kid friendly an event as you'll find in Vegas.

Not that I'm saying you are a kid, but...under 21 friendly isn't as easy a sound byte.

Chuck,

I have registered and have my Palace Hotel room. So if your still heading out on Wednesday, I'm game to join up with your caravan and any others driving on Wed.

Green River sounds good for a stop place, do you have a hotel picked out for Green River.

I will be driving back on Monday the slow way to take some pictures along the route.

Both the Palace and paypal took my money using firefox without any issues.

Don
