Visiting winter park
Visiting winter park
Hi, I was finally able to get a wireless connection to work after being in Winter Park for several days. My wife & I are staying in winter park until July 15th, from Las Vegas Nv, while our 8 yr old daughter is attending a dance camp.
We are glad we are not in the 115 plus heat. Tomorrow Wed. July 4th my wife and I are going to take a drive to Fort Collins to see my step mom.
We were thinking of taking 40 out of winter park to 34 thru estes and Loveland to 287 into fort Collins. Any special things we should stop and look at; we will probably leave around 6 a.m. so that we may see some wildlife.
Next week one day I hope to take a drive up Mount Evans, any takers?

You are in luck. Try this:
www.Colorado.com which is your BEST website for current affairs.
If you do go from Winter Park to Estes to Ft. Collins, go round trip. Do go up thru Granby (40 then 34) and up the back way thru Rocky Mtn Natl Park. Bring your park pass, or buy one. Down thru the park to Estes Park, then take 34 into Ft. Collins.
As a side trip, you might try 34 / 56 out of Ft. Collins on the NW side, then N thru Masonville, up to Hwy 14. You can go around the RMNP to the West and come in via Walden and back into Granby (this is a full day trip) or you can go down 14 back to Ft. Collins. Do this on a Saturday night and plan dinner, drinks, music and dancing at the
Mishawaka Dance Hall www.mishawakaconcerts.com for a great evening's entertainment!
Or take a side trip just N of there to Red Feather Lakes....very close and nice and easy to get to.
You might even check out Copper Mountain Resort, home of MITM2 MINIs in the Mountains....for a trip out next summer.
Heck, try Mt. Evans. Reach it from Idaho Springs and I-70, 14264 ft high, paved road. Do it at midnight, nekkid. Great fun.
Let us know if you need more.

Jonathan, terrific thanks for the information.
I even registered for a Free t shirt at the visitor information center in Fort Collins.
I already have close to 1,000 miles on the trip odometer, hoping to have a lot more by the end of nextweek.
