It's a cling. I put mine in my right rear window. I got a cool MTTS decal to put on the rear window. It's an outline of the US with MINI Takes the States 2006 inside the border. I got it from Way Motor Works. Looks nice.

I guess those of us who do the last leg need to keep looking for this answer. I think I read somewhere that we should leave early Monday to avoid the holiday traffic jams in the NJ/NYC area. We'd really like to meet up and drive with a group, but as we are not a part of any local club (there isn't one in our area) this isn't easy.

I was just over at Dreyer and Reinbold MINI last week and talked to my MA, Jim Barth. He's been calling to find out.

All he knows to date is that the MINIs will be arriving in Indy tuesday afternoon at the racetrack and the lap should be Wednesday morning. He's hoping to get more details from MINI as the date approaches.

I just checked MINIUSA. Looks like the lap around the Indy Speedway will be on the afternoon of Wednesday Aug 30th:

Day 10 - Wednesday, August 30
Start:
St Louis, MO
End: Indianapolis, IN

ARCH AERIAL PHOTO AND BREAKFAST: MINIs MINIs everywhere. Join us at the famous St. Louis Arch for an aerial photograph of all of the MINIs under the Arch. Meet up with your MINI friends, grab some breakfast, courtesy of Dwell Magazine, and get ready for the quick trip to Indy. Breakfast begins at 8:00AM with the photo at 9:30AM sharp. Photos will be available for purchase on the web at Cardinal Aviation.
INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY: Motor like you've never motored before! It's just you and 500 of your closet MINI friends and family, motoring around the famous Indianapolis Speedway. Join us for a parade lap and get your photo taken as you pass the famous yard of bricks. Enjoy snacks and refreshments, all courtesy of Sports Illustrated. A $10.00 donation to a local Indianapolis charity will be collected in order to participate in the parade lap. Museum tours and access, as well as ground tours are available on a first come first some basis for $3.00 per person. Plan to join us from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM for an afternoon of speed and excitement.
The Speedway is located at 4790 West 16th Street on the west side of Indianapolis; just minutes from Indianapolis Airport. Take I-465; Exit 16A, Crawford Rd., head east approximately 1.5 miles; the Speedway is located on the north east corner of Crawford and Georgetown roads. Use Main Gate #2 to enter the speedway. Speedway staff will direct you to the RV parking lot to register for the track lap.

You're right about the Thursday morning location. In fact, that is just across the street from where I work!

The most details I have been able to find are here http://www.miniusa.com/mtts/pdf/MTTS_full_route.pdf
There call it a "parade lap" around the track. I don't know what that means.
