This is my Mini project that sadly became too large of an issue for me to handle at this time, as grad school is taking its toll. The original plan was to swap an R53 drivetrain into an R50, dumb I know, but hindsight is 20/20. The engine swap itself was done professionally, I have receipts to show for it, and the car itself runs strong. I The issues at hand are that the front control arm bushings have to be replaced, and the persistent overheating issue. The control arm bushings are an easy fix, however the cooling issue needs further investigation that I haven't the time, money, or space to do anymore. Included in this purchase will be an extra set of wheels and tires (215/45/17 Falken Azenis) that were used for autocross, a set of headers that have recently been heat wrapped, the belt removal tool, the camshaft gear removal tool, two wings, PIAA rally lights, and a base model set of a hood and bumper.

Once again, this is a project car that was intended for track use and there are other issues with it; there are some loose interior trim panels, and some age is shown throughout. That said, the title is clean, the engine is strong, the body is rust free, and when sorted, is a fun & quick track car that needs a better home than what I can provide. I will not be able to part it out, as I mentioned earlier, I don't have the space or time to fix it either. Please feel free to ask questions and I will answer them, provide receipts, and send more pictures.

Note: I selected Midwestern, but I am located in Oklahoma.

Below is a list of the modifications to this car:
- Bilstein sport shocks with H&R lowering springs
- 19mm adjustable rear sway bar
- Hotchkis adjustable rear control arms
- Ireland Engineering fixed camber plates
- Miltek cat-back exhaust

- New (OEM) timing chain tensioner
- Alta Tensioner Stop
- RMW oil sump baffle
- Screamin' Demon coilpack w/kingsborne wires and 2-step colder NGK plugs
- Mishimoto radiator, hoses, and a new thermostat & housing
- ARP head studs
- New (OEM) front hubs/bearings, and axles
- Sparco Assetto Gara wheels (black, 15x6.5)
- Sparco R505 seat w/Sparco rail and Mini adapter

$3,000 for the whole car as is?

1) where in the mid-west ?

2) would car survive drive back to NY or would I need to tow ?

3) So its an R53 or its an R50 ? Just curious , why swap an R53 in to an R50...

Please let me know more as i am seriously considering it as you have very good mods that far exceeded the asking price, mods which i am currently doing to my R53

Hey there, I'm sorry for my late reply. I haven't logged on in a while as I actually sold the car in June shortly after posting. I haven't taken it down and I'm sorry for that. That being said, it would not have made it from Oklahoma to New York, because it barely made it up to Kansas (where it now lives).

To answer your last question... Looking back on the decision to do it, I was really attached to the car but wanted more. I only have the space for one car, so a project was out of the question for me. Financial mistake? Oh yeah, big time. Fun? A little bit, but it just got depressing after a while trying to fix it every single day.

Sorry again for the misunderstanding, but I'm thankful for the response. I do actually still have the original hood, bumper, and springs if you ever need them!
