For Sale: Used JCW Sport Steering Wheel in Alcantara and Leather. Wheel is in excellent condition and is available with or without airbag. The wheel was purchased new in 2014 and removed recently as we converted the car for track use. The airbag was manufactured in 2006 by PETRI-DN and is also in excellent (fully operational) condition. The leather is still soft and the alcantara is not matted, but the top half is slightly faded from the sun (the in-car photo makes it look more faded than it really is).

Will it Fit?
The wheel will fit all Gen 1 hardtop models from 2002-2006 (and convertibles from 2005-2008). The airbag fits models made after 12/03. If you have a three-spoke steering wheel, this is a direct replacement and you can re-use your existing airbag and multifunctional controls (not included). If you have a two-spoke wheel, you will need the optional airbag. This wheel does not include multifunctional controls.

What's with the trim?
The trim has been covered in soft, carbon-fiber cloth. If you have a three-spoke wheel, you can reuse your exiting trim by removing the three Torx screws on the back of the wheel. The trim pieces pop off with simple trim removal tools.

Why is the airbag "optional"?
Many people already have the airbag. It's a simple process to pop-out and swap (I can provide a link to instructions.) And the second is that I can't ship it. If you want the wheel with the airbag, the only option is local pick-up. I can arrange to meet in the metro Washington DC/Baltimore/No VA area.

How much with/without airbag?
The price listed of $350 is without airbag, but includes the trim and free ground shipping in the US (lower 48). The price with airbag is $500 buy you have to arrange for local pick-up. Paypal or Cash preferred. PM if interested or if you have any questions.

 

This won't fit an R56? I thought the 3 spoke wheels were the same.

 

Don't know, never tried it. I do know there is a different part number for R56 (32300416251) vs R53 (3230043545) JCW steering wheel. Anybody know if it will fit?
