The Borla catalytic converter back T-304 stainless steel Race and Street exhaust systems with dual round rolled angle-cut tips are great systems for the MINI Cooper S. Engineered for maximum power with a distinctive sound that denotes a Borla system. The Borla 'Street' system is a little bit louder than the stock system yet has a nice performance sound to it while the Borla 'Race' version has a more aggressive yet mature sound. Both are very reasonable as far as their noise level and I consider them much more 'grown up' than the import tuner crowd racket exhausts. Both systems feature full welded case high-flow mufflers, mandrel bent tubing, and polished stainless steel tips. The only difference is the actual mufflers, the tips and build style are the same.
Complete hardware and instructions are also included. Multi part systems allow for easy install and control of fit. Two round meaty tips with 'BORLA' raised letters on the top of each tail pipe hint that something is going on under the car without looking silly. Tips fill the rear valance perfectly. All Borla systems are backed by a one million mile warranty that covers every part of the system including hardware. Borla report a HP gain of between 5 and 8 ft lbs Torque. Please note that the Borla 'Race' system is louder than the Milltek, yet quieter than the Magnaflow. The Alta is closer to the Milltek level of sound, just for reference. At highway speeds, from my experience the Borla Race and Magnaflow tend to reverberate a bit inside the cabin for what it's worth.
Fits these MINI models:
R53: 2002-2006 Cooper S Hatchback
R52: 2004-2008 Cooper S Convertible
