05 MCS 45k miles: Please help us. We replaced two rebuiit valve bodies and both time NO Reverse while up on lift at Trans shop. So We towed it home and left it sitting for two weeks to try to research why no reverse both times. Then tried to start car two weeks latter while not on lift. Shifted in reverse no problem - just now has the same prior problem of no higher gears. (Test was done while on lift two weeks ago to disconnect Valve body and tested Transmission manually and it went into reverse no problem - wheels spun in reverse) The rebuild shop told us to check that test out prior to sending us out another rebuilt Valve Body. (Both times did the Trans check both times ok) but now we are totally stumped the reverse is working so towed to dealer to read/reset codes - dealer said EGS not reading ($200 to tell me that) they want me to replace the EGS $1700. - read other blog on this site that MINI owner did that and dealer still could not read new EGS Module - he was back to researching new transmission. Mech says put new OEM Valve Body not rebuild - that is 1400 dollars from Mini and 700 for the same exact one new from VW. Any one have ideas to help we have thousands of dollars into this and are still at were we started one month ago?
