I think those are just reflectors...no bulb

No, there are bulbs in them.

No dash light comes on, I just had the cable tucked safely behind the arches, you can move cable quite a bit, nothing moved on my car.

you just yank the arches out to remove them correct?

You can do it that way, but it's all plastic so I would and did it careful.
