LOL...I did.
Maybe I should sell mine...somebody MIGHT get a few miles...
also have used plugs, used oil, and some used gas!!
Most if the crank pullies seem to fail...if they are gonna between 45-60k.....
Would be a cheap way to get a LIGHTER face-lift pulley...or maybe replace a failed pulley on a car somebody is getting ready to sell.....

Good one. I don't appreciate your condescending attitude. Way Motor Works sells used ones for $220.00.

I am selling mine because I upgraded to the ATI Super Damper as soon as I bought the car. The car was driven by someone who took extremely good care of the car and never beat it.

Way is also a reputable vendor that typically stands behind his products and offers great customer service. You're a name on a forum and from the looks of it not a very active name.

A used pulley is a good deal FOR THE RIGHT PERSON.....
like I said, a person that is selling their car in a couple of years of years, or are on a very tight budget.
Not about anything other than honesty....ANY used part just has the REMAINING life left, and like you said, you are selling it cheaper than a vendor...so it MIGHT be a good deal!! but like in all internet purches, buyer beware!!
Maybe I am just tired of folks having post selling used OEM spark plug wires, or used aftermarket ones, and saying "looks good" and over-reacted, but one HAS to be a bit of a cynic when looking at used stuff IMO unless you have the word SUCKER written on your forehead!!

Yes and this vendor also suggested to me that I sell the used crank pulley for the price I posted it at.

I can appreciate I am just a name on a forum; however if anything were to be wrong with the part I would gladly refund the money.

If I felt the part was compromised in any way I would never even attempt to sell it.

Sorry if it seems everyone is bashing you on this part, but it is pretty well known in the Mini world that those pullies are voodoo regardless of whether the previous owner took care of the car or not, they are poor quality material and very commonly fail. BMW should have recalled them years ago. Anyway who is to say yours does not have plenty of life left ? it might, but odds are it might not. Its a roll of the dice really.

The way it was explained to me is the '06 pulleys are much better than 02-04.

Why would a vendor suggest I sell a low mileage '06 pulley if they thought it was voodoo?

Plus are these vendors who are selling used pulley's doing some sort of magical stress test that I am unaware of?

More power to me huh? Thanks bro. It's safe to assume I was an idiot for taking this vendors advice. I can sleep well knowing I was just trying to do the right thing.

I guess you're just looking out for the northamericanmotoring community for which I certainly appreciate, but I certainly could have done without the cynical and condescending attitude from everyone who chimed in.

I should try to sell my used oil, used gas and used air out of my tires.

Maybe I could even sell my used underwear while I'm at it.

This is interesting. I've sold about 6 good used R53 crank pulleys for more than this guy is asking. There is nothing wrong with him selling it unless it had already failed, which he said it hadn't. There is a large group of customers out there that can not afford the ATI or a new OEM pulley and this gives them an option to get by. Will it last 6 months or 6 years no one can tell. But more than likely it will get a customer through till they can afford to get a new one, or will just be fine for them for the life of their car.
I personally think unless someone has something positive to say about someones classified ad they should just not say anything. You wouldn't want someone to come on your ad and bash you or what your selling if you were trying to sell something. This is not directed at any one person when I say this, I feel this about ALL classified ads.
