Looking for someone to work on my 2012

Hi All,
Just bought a 2012 Cooper S Clubman Hampton Edition, and it needs a couple of things (at least according to Mini of Morristown):
The first would be that it's throwing a code P0304 for a #4 cylinder misfire. The previous owner replaced the plugs and coils in 2018 (car has 48k miles on it) and he says it throws this code from time to time.
Mini of Morristown said the water pump pulley is cracked and needs to be replaced.
The Oil Volume Control Solenoid is also allegedly leaking, I know that's a known issue, so that needs to be replaced, too.
Anyone know a good Mini mechanic to do this work? I'm in the Morristown area.
Thanks,
Keith

I'm looking for a shop as well.

2010 R56 JCW with 60K miles, blowing smoke at idle.

Morristown Mini just called and said it's valves. They don't do the work so they recommended a new engine.

Anyone have any recommendations? Otherwise I'm trading it.

I didn't like Mini of Morristown at all. I ended up using Precision Motors in Caldwell. Their labor rate was about $90 and hour opposed to $170 at Mini of Morristown. Sadly, my Mini just had too many damn problems (was in the shop 3 of the first 4 months I had it and over $3k of repairs, on a car with 50k miles on it) so I sold it at a loss. Never buying another one.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll give them a call.

Sucks because I love this car and I spent so much on work/modding it, but I may have to get rid of it.

I hear you man I had high hopes for mine I love the way it looks and it's pretty much spotless but I was shelling out almost $1k a month in repairs since I had it and I figured if it's that bad at 50k miles it'll only get worse as the miles pile up. Precision was very straightforward with me on what it needed and also got the work done quickly. They seem to be good guys. Good luck!

A bit late to this topic, but Mini of Morristown is run by scam artists. I strong recommend you never bring your car there again. I took my car there for an oil change and they told me I was leaking transmission fluid and need $800 in repairs. I took it to a 3rd party garage and they immediately told me that I was not showing any signs of transmission fluid leaks. That was 4 years ago - there was no leak.

It's far from Morristown, but Mini of Edison has done right by me multiple times. Their labor rate is high ($155), but they get the job done right the first time, and they typically bill each repair at less time compared to 3rd party garage. They also have a JCW mini as one of their loaners

I have also brought my car to Prestige Auto Repair in Bernardsville (a little closer to Morristown) for oil changes and brakes (they're an installer on tire rack). They seem competent but they aren't "cheap." Cheaper than Morristown and they won't make up random nonsense to "fix."

I haven't had either dealerships work on my car, but when I was buying, I thought MINI of Edison was really good and had nice service personnel. When I had a quote from MINI of Morristown, I'm also positive that they over-quoted the MSRP of a car then dropped it through discounts. I didn't look at all the specifics, but I felt their quoted MSRPs were $3-4k more than they should have been. It worked out since I used their "discounts" to get a better deal at MINI of Edison, but that'd support the idea that they're... less than trustworthy.
