Mini Club in North Jersey?
Minixlr8, i ended up doing my merritt runs at 5 AM both weekends up to newport. I figured you would understand me not getting back to you about a cruise.
I am up for this sunday. I live 5 mins away from ramapo and am familiar with much of north jersey. Hawk's Nest run maybe?

Just call yourselves "NJM" North Jersey MINIs...not a club...but a G2G.
Do a G2G at Bear MTN every other month...change locations (alternate) for other runs...just do it once a month (second Sunday every month)...you'll have a set date and any other meets is just gravy (extra)...
You won't burn anyone out and some people are watching the gas pumps...even MINI Owners in this economy. This is just a suggestion from experience.
I travel 72 Miles one way to South Jersey from Jersey City every month...because I have many great MINI friends there...I know there is some type of an event on the third weekend every month that we do...I look forward to it...and I like to plan things around it because I knew way in advance...
So planning a Bear MTN Run on the second Sunday of each month and going to eat afterwards is a good start...people will look forward to it...people can plan for it...and you may only get 3-12 MINIs at any one time and meet different MINI owners...but some MINI owners do stay because they will enjoy themselves.

I'm on my fourth MINI. I'd love to get together and drive, as well as finding folks who want to drive north in winter, usually, to Alaska specifically, in 2012.
nightflyr i might be at minis to the point this saturday depending on the weather ... I would be down to drive as well on sunday but i just dont think the weather is going to be in our favor ... saying thunderstorms both sat an sunday... If we cant do this weekend lets plan something VERY soon. hawks nest run cause im dying to drive there !!! ?!?!?!?!

Sounds good to me, day trips during the week are also good for me if you are ever off, been wanting to head back to the hawks nest myself to drive and maybe do some picture taking
Yeah I actually made my mind up late last night and I wont be attending minis to the point just because in my opinion thats kind of a boring, flat, and traffic heavy drive... But I am down to do something on sunday early and drive upstate if you guys want... I too am into photography and i think hawks nest run would be orgasims for my camera and Mini ... ltes plan it and lets try and do something sunday if a bunch of people are down ...
Hawks nest tomorrow ... check out this post !!

I'm new .. live in Jersey City all my life, but currently stationed in Massachusetts. Just picked up my "new to me" R53 and love it.
I've been all over the Massachusetts Motoring Club site and it looks like their club is pretty well organized. It seems like they have a centralized garage thats pretty active on their site and pretty much the go to guy for repairs/upgrades. They even made their own club badge which was absolutely stunning.
I'd love to have some sort of trusted mechanic/garage who's all about Minis and maybe become some sort of centralized focal point. Maybe even run through some track days and shows as a group (Waterfest comes to mind).
I know burning out from a club and all that, but maybe something that ties people in together may be good.
Just a thought ..
