Yes, NOAA is predicting pretty much the same thing with a possibility of light showers early in the morning and then clearing...so maybe the roads will get a little wet in the early morning. Dorothy and I will bring our slickers just in case. See ya early tomorrow morning.

So you're going to Prestige's event, eating their food and taking their freebies but not participating? Not really in the spirit of the event is it? Sorry, but that bothers me.

I guess as most already know by now, the NEMINI site is back up. I posted over there with these pictures as well, but figured the "Rockaway Gang" would most likely still be looking here at this thread

It was a great day, we both enjoyed ourselves immensely and we want to once again thank Robyn and her crew for the great run that they put on. And Jim, many thanks to you for setting up the interim meeting point in Rockaway...great effort and appreciated much.

Thanks also to my wife who manned the shutter while I was doing the twisties ...

Some Rockaway Pix...

The full directory of pix can be viewed at...

But I'm sure they spent well over 25 Grand at Prestige buying that mini. Prestige has these events to keep current customers happy and in touch with the dealer who sold them the car (and made money on them). And it works! Just like my family does, We Keep Going Back to Them for the next Mini (4 to date from them)and send our friends there too(2 more). We LOVE our Dealer! And all the free shirts are Free Advertising! Don't let it bother you... Enjoy all the benefits that your mini can give you. After all you did pay for it in the long run.

I had a blast yesterday and i am just now getting back to NJ, my Co-pilot and I logged over 500 miles yesterday and this morning, lots of fun may I add.
I have some pictures and about 2 hours of Video that i will try and get on youtube later today if possible. I was unable to record the actual Hawks nest portion, I switched out the Memorys cards once at a traffic light but other then that we never stopped driving and the last card fell a few minutes short.
I am going to make a trip back up there in the next 2 weeks and i also want to drive rte 590 again in PA, that is a VERY twisty road.
Thanks again to Robyn and everyone else. Looks like we will have a group in place also to hit the Dragon in May, and we have the room already booked.

The run was awesome! I felt much more comfortable driving those roads this time then at the JTR. I just envisioned the mini ahead of me (Lightningblue) as the color changing race line in the Forza Racing game *lol*. And no I didn't know NEMINI was back (I guess because I don't use facebook). I just re-registered, thanks for the tip. As usuall, those are awesome pictures Ed.

BTW: what is the deal with rednecks on the side of the road in NY State where they give us the middle finger as we pass? I don't get it but I noticed this same reaction on the Prestige rally at the lake run earlier this year. What gives?

And I bet the folks that show up at these events and actually plan to take part REALLY appreciate interlopers waltzing in and taking the free stuff. Must be why Prestige is only giving one free thing per carload of participants. We used to gt a number of freebies for all ou family members. Like my old grade school teachers used to say: Thanks for ruining it for the others.

Is it ok to go into a diner and grab a whole napkin dispenser to take home? It's free isn't it? I was taught that that is theft. In any case, the costs get passed on to all of us because a few decide to make pigs of themselves.

I had a really great time on Saturday. I can't wait for the next run!

MeenieCooper I hope you can agree to disagree and leave it at that, and not ruin a good thread about an organized run. Thanks.

If you read my second post on this I didn't even go to Prestige Mini on Saturday, I am sure that Prestige Mini limited things this year to keep everyone from taking things home to their family and friends as has happened in the past, not in response to a joke that I made on this site.

I meet with the group at Scotrun and motored with them. I have been to various Prestige Mini events and they usually do a nice job, last years Motortober event was not one of their better runs. That is why I was un-deceided on going this year. I had a great time motoring through the Mountains with a group of about 25 Mini's, the route was great and the people were all great. I would do this run again and plan on driving up that way again soon.
Mike

Isn't it "FREE" advertisement when we do show up at the Dealership...
How impressive when 50 MINI Cars come to a dealership to show prospective customers?...I call that participation...Wow...a few small free things that don't equal the gas that I spent to get to the event...I participated...not for the free things...but for the enjoyment of the MINI and the friendships that I have made.

I agree with you on this Lorin, with the number of events going on this month it is pick and choose, and hope you choose the right event. How was Prestige Mini's event this year? The Hawks run was a blast, meet some new friends and some that I know from PhillyMini, or from the Jackson Outlets. I wanted to do both but can't be in 2 places at once, I only have 1 Mini.
