Sign Up List for Kings Island
Put me down for "I hope I'm able to make it". I have a wedding to attend that weekend, and I'm going to try to weasel out of it.
Eric, I'll talk to you this weekend about all the info you've found out.

Let me talk with Trainmama about whether we're going to stay with the family or at the hotel.. We'll be planning on leaving on Sunday or Monday and heading to Memphis to visit Elvis for a day, then home to SC.. Call it bribery to get Trainmama to go.....
Melinda, glad to hear you've decided to try to make it. Remember, you can go to a wedding anytime
. I will add you to the list.
And yes, we have figured out who the infamous Julie Jensen is (see my earlier post).
Hope you decide to bunk with us Trainman! There is a room with your name on it.
Guys I need to emphasize that you need to call to reserve your room ASAP if you haven't done so already. If you will look at the list, ALL of the rooms I have reserved are now spoken for
. It is possible that someone who hasn't given me their name could call and reserve one of the rooms, bumping someone who has signed up
. Please get your name in if you are planning on going. The hotel has a 48-hour cancelation policy, so you can cancel later if you change your mind or something comes up.

Thanks. I am actually in a library 'up north' as we say. Mini did very well on ride up from FL. Wife enjoyed the ride very much. Took us 15 hrs (we took our time and had too many stops)
I will try to get over to the hotel and see what the place looks like. My friend never called back.
I was hoping she'd get us in to ride. I might still call her aif nothing slse to say hi.I know the area. We went right by the area earlier today running errands.
Thanks for the address,
Hey Eric,
Here is the latest from the infamous JJ. You can count on at least 8 MINI's from the Mini-sota Motoring society.
I got this from a member of the CincMINIs. We will get a drive whether it
is sanctioned or not.

Julie,
I spoke with PKI's Manager of Marketing yesterday and here's what he told
me about PKI's hosting of the MINI owners event for the opening of the new
Italian Job Stunt Ride:
* There will be NO caravan/drive from Oxford to PKI
* June 18th will be a day at PKI filled with exclusives for MINI owners
* Details on the exclusives will be published next week on PKI.com
* Online registration/tickets will also be available for sale next week on
PKI.com
* PKI will be providing a dedicated parking area for attending MINI owners
PKI will be sending details when they become available. I will immediately
post the info/link on CinciMINIS.com. Once PKI.com has officially
published the info mentioned above, I will submit the link to the various
online MINI forums (MINI2, NAM, etc.) for clarification along with
PKI.com's "Plan A Visit" Accomodations/Local Hotels link
(http://www.pki.com/visit/visit_accomodations.cfm)
----
NOTE: You may hear of 'discounted' tickets through Cincinnati MINI. These
tickets are for Cincinnati MINI owners ONLY, and even then they are first
come, first serve.
The CinciMINIs would be glad to host a meet-n-greet the Friday night
(6/17) prior. I will send you the details very soon.
I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks Julie for the information.
OK guys, the Dragon is now over. Time to turn our attentions to PKI!
As you can see from Julie's post, the event is taking shape. If you have not done so already, call to reserve your room. I've read on the MMS forum that the cost will be $45, $20 to Season Ticket holders (which I understand will include Carowinds ST holders). Ohio---here we come!!!
Keep checking here or the MMS forum for details!

We should have an answer in the next couple of days..
I'll be playing "tour guide" for Trainmama and showing her the sights of Cincinnati on Sunday, then heading for Memphis on Monday, spending Tuesday visiting Elvis Land,

Sorry to say I didn't get to check out the hotel. Seems like we were so busy with the wedding and things. There are plenty of things to do in the area. Wright Patterson AFB in nearby Dayton area is GREAT. Maybe 1 hour north. Plus it's free. You can spend hours there. There are a lot of great roads to drive. I wish I was still in the area as my wife and I love to put rides together (as we used to do for our Harley group).
The KI area is pretty much touristy, just south of KI is a large retail area with any type of merchant. Also on 71 S is the Cinci Mini dealer. Of course there is no exit off of 71 to get to him easily. It's very easy if you are going north on 71, just no south bound exit.
I've actually gone south, turned around and come back north.
A drive along the Ohio River on US 50 is a nice drive heading east. There are plenty of things to do in the area, depending on what people like. Really wish we could make it.
ATTENTION M2C2 MEMBERS. As you can see, we are now getting lots of interest in this event. If you have not called yet to reserve your room, please do so immediately. At this point, I cannot guarantee that someone has not already called and reserved your room. I plan to call the hotel today to get an update on who has called so far. I have started a waiting list of those who are asking for rooms. If you are on the list to go and have decided not to go, I need to know ASAP so I can free up some rooms for non-members who want to go. Thanks.
Eric
Eric
I called the hotel yesterday and as of now, 7 of the 13 rooms set aside for M2C2 have been reserved. Of course that means there are only 6 left (I'm a whiz in math ain't I)
I asked that when someone calls asking for 1 of these rooms, the staff ask them if they are M2C2 members and that preference be given to our members. The guy said he would ask the staff to start doing this, particularly if room availability gets real tight. So when you call, be sure to tell them you are a MEMBER of M2C2 to get this preference. I also ask that NON-MEMBERS who call trying to get a room PLEASE be sure to inform them that you are NOT a member of the club. The staff there will try to find a room for you that is not part of the block reserved for M2C2 members. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.

SMCC member here and would like to go but won't allow 4-legged friends at the hotel... Will have to make reservations somewhere else...
Hey QB when are you guys leaving and which way are you going...
Ed and George,
Glad to hear you guys got your rooms.
By my count, that leaves 5 of you who haven't called yet. So get on the stick!!!
Ed, I'm thinking the best way to go, based on my look at the map, is to take I-40 to Knoxville, then I-75 N to I-71. PKI is on I-71 just north of Cinncinatti. Given we all have to meet up someplace, I was thinking we all meet at a designated time at a reststop somewhere west of Asheville. You agree or have a better way to go?
