sorry guys, i have been MIA for a while.

due to my health condition i was not very active in the past.
i do not know a lot of people in this club due to i am kind of far away from you guys and i have really only been to one event.

Me, as a very very active member of AtlantaMinis, and no offense here. We keep the officer details outside of the board. i like that because there are less confusions. (Not everyone in the club knows everything, but everyone wants to say something. sometime is good and sometime is not so good. so Keep It Simple) like in most operations or even family business, you can't let everyone make decision on everything.

I join the club due to the car and have fun with it and get to know some new firends. as long as i have fun going events with the club i am ok!
when decisions getting too personal, the club will fall apart. i say this in the AtlantaMinis: "We are the MINI people, we are the happy people."

Once bylaws and constitution are approved, the day-to-day running of clubs can be done by steering committees (no pun intended, but what the hey)!

Steering committees can set agendas for general and board meetings to weed out the endless discussion of certain details, and to keep the meetings moving and not bogging down.

It is really vital to have a good set of bylaws in place for the longevity of the club. The initial officers will not always be in office, so it is really important to have mechanisms in place to ensure that elections are as fair as possible, and that the club is as transparent as possible.

Just my .02.....

More power to anyone who wants to run for office here. It sounds like a TOUGH JOB!

I nominate me to remain a plain ol' member who will show up for events and drives and drop my 2 cents in when I have it
