Greenville chapter
It was very nice to crash dinner with the Greenville MINI chapter tonight while I was in that town having the WORKS kit installed on my 05 MCS at Century MINI.
I got to meet a very fun-loving, warm group of club members, who really demonstrated a spirit of community with one another and towards me as well.
Though I don't remember all the names, I met Tweety's Mom (Karen?) and Brian, Ed, Debbie, Chris and lady friend(name?) John and wife ("sharing" a Red 05MCS)
and a gent with nice checkered mirror caps, as well as George, and Hank from Century MINI who stopped by for a (very) tall one.
Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome, and I enjoyed dinner at Guatalajara's.
I look forward to our paths crossing much more in future outings and get-togethers!

Welcome
Glad you got a chance to come down and meet us. That was a nice loaner Century let you drive!
My "lady friend" happens to be my wife.
Any time you want to come down and join us, come on down.

The gent with the checkered mirror caps was JL. The John's wife is the club secretary, Julie. It was great to have you join us, Tarzan, and you're welcome to join us anytime you feel like driving down from Charlotte. BTW. how was the z4 loaner for the drive home?
Z4 schmee schmour...
Thanks! That Z4 was very stylish, and had no end to pulling power even at speeds that alegedly are way, way above any aleged speed limit in North America (alegedly), not that I would know and in any way incriminate myself...
But, the whole time I missed my MINI. I know they put you in an "upgraded" car to make you desire one at trade-in time, but inside, the Z4 had no character at all (rather bland) and the doors rattled, there was some learching heaving hesitation while the SMG auto transmission tried to decide which gear to shift into, the paddle shifters were loose and rattly, and the seat weren't all that comfortable. Visibility with the top up was pretty poor.
From the exterior though, OH BABY! that car was sweet!

The web site -- and this forum -- should answer your questions about the club, which covers both Carolinas. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

I drove up to Charoltte last week for a dinner and meet a bunch of the Charlotte people, but not sure how often I can make that drive (made it in 2 hours 3 min, but not so good gas milage if you know what i mean). Yesterday I went on the Atlanta MINI's senic drive (which took me all the way to Alabama but was very nice) and met up with a bunch of them, some of whom I already knew from the Dragon.
Now I just need to meet up with the upstate group so I can stop putting so many miles on my poor MINI. I was going to wait until my schedule freed up some before posting, but I was wondering if the Greenville chapter would be interested in getting together for a dinner or fun run or something say, maybe September 9th or 10th. Both the Charlotte and Atl people said Greenville is a great group, but I couldn't find any upcoming events for the chapter. Soooo long question short...any upstatians interested in an event?
Hey Miniwildcat!
I wondered what part of SC you were living in.
The Greenville chapter of m2c2 is scattered across the upstate from Greer to Salem, SC. I live in Easley.
LucyGoose (Carol) is the chapter vp. You can e-mail her at greenville@m2c2.org
She is planning a lunch and motor for this Saturday starting in Wahalla at someplace called The Steakhouse.
She has not yet set a time to meet.
Hopefully she'll be posting a thread on the forum as soon as she get's it set.
Ed,
Treasurer m2c2

Trainman,
Thanks for the heads up. I should be able to make it, just need to know when and where. I can't seem to find a notice for the event anywhere on the M2C2 website or here on the M2C2 forum. Just wondering if I'm not looking in the right place or if I need to get on an email list for the Greenville updates. Hope to see you at the run.

Unfortunately, due to a prior commitment, I won't be able to make it..
